I wasn't there. Later that day my mother, Claire surprised my siblings and I with our grandparents.
  • She was a classmate of mine. Our English teacher had us enter and write the paper and took us to the show. It was an amazing experience. It was so sad. And then this totally unexpected amazing thing happened. She was always a very happy person but I think after that. She was blessed.

I remember this episode in 2006. I remember where I was seating in the living room when it aired. My deceased mum and deceased sister were alive then. I watched this show with them and my 3 other siblings. Oh, how we all cried during this reunion. Oprah was sent to earth to do exactly what she is doing. She is my number one motivation when you talk about living your purpose. God bless you Oprah. Love from Kafanchan in Nigeria.
  • OH MY GOD!!
I wish that every Genocide survivor could experience this joyful moment!!!! WE Rwandans have gone through alot.
    So happy for her!!!!

I started balling my eyes when Oprah told her she didn't have to read her letter in front of everyone! I knew then that Oprah had done the most incredible thing for them!

She should have never quit doing this show!!! She changed so many lives for so many years. So many of us kids that grew up in the 90s were latch key kids that came home from school grabbed a snack and sat down to watch Oprah while doing our homework. She helped raise some of us and taught us so many lessons about life. Anyone that was anything appeared on the Oprah show. I remember when Leonardo DiCaprio was gonna be on and I was so excited I couldn’t wait to get home from school to watch! So many people hate on her but I love and appreciate her very much for helping shape my character.
  • This in my opinion is the single most wonderful thing that Oprah has ever done, out of all the great things she’s done.

Did anyone else read her book and now has a completely different outlook on this moment?

The happiest, most real moments I have ever seen. I can't imagine the joy these people felt all at once. Thank God for Oprah.
  • Wow. I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, this is a sublimely joyful moment. On the other hand, these people have gone through a hell most (hopefully) of us can only imagine, and I am thinking that this moment perhaps should have been a private one instead of one engineered to be splashed across the media for what are ultimately sensational purposes. I imagine I'll get haters on this comment, but it's my honest reaction to what I'm watching...I feel a bit guilty about having crashed what maybe should have been a very raw, private moment in the lives of people who have been through so much already.
  • Many lives have change for the better because of Oprah...she makes the impossible, POSSIBLE!!😇

And the ones she has bless pays it forward with their stories.🥰

OMG, this is unbelievable! Actually, there are many families like this that were separated for long and there are many others that hope to see theirs. God is good!
