Genya Reznick was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1934. After the establishment of the Warsaw ghetto, Genya and her family were incarcerated in it. When the "great deportation" began, Genya began accompanying her parents to their workplace at a factory in the ghetto, in order to avoid the deportations. in February 1942 Genya, her parents and sister managed to escape the ghetto and hid in a workshop. After being informed on, the family was forced to move into hiding in a cemetery. Genya and her parents hid until their deportation from the city, along with the remaining population, following the Warsaw Polish Uprising. Genya and her parents were sent to a village, where they lived under assumed identities until the end of the war. Genya immigrated to pre-state Israel in April 1946. She was sent to an orphanage in Jerusalem, and later was transferred to relatives in Kibbutz Yagur. In 1954 she enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces. She married Yossi in 1963, and they have children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I am grateful to be able to hear the stories of survival. I grieve for all those that did not make it. I am a Christian and I believe it is everyone's duty to listen to the stories and read the books so such a thing never happens again. Hate moves slowly until it takes over lives. This can not be tolerated

So amazing. I honor those who died and survived by watching and listening to their stories. Such courage...such sacrifice. Yad Vashem, thank you all!
