Drug overdose deaths hit all-time high in the U.S.

The U.S. saw a record 100,000 overdose deaths between April of 2020 and 2021. Experts are pointing to the prevalence of fentanyl, as well as a continued lack of access to treatment for many and the added stressors of the coronavirus pandemic.
