Perhaps the "safety of our children" should be more in the hands of their parents and less in the hands of the federal government. When the government says, "it's about the safety of our children", it means that's the best excuse they can come up with to justify squandering all of that money.

"$1.2 Trillion, that's a ton of money." Actually it's 11,023 tons (in $100 bills).

How can our roads and bridges be in bad shape considering the massive amount of money these governments steal from every gallon of fuel. Fully 40 cents on the gallon are taxes, or more! Add on that highway use taxes on truckers, and there is far more money taken in, then spent on roads. Don't even start with adding tolls to this, it's just another grab for power and cash.

So... 9 cents for every dollar to be spent goes to roads and bridges for an infrastructure spending bill. All you have to do is drive around and see that is not up to par.
