God Knows Why (Romans 9:19-33) - Pastor Daniel Fusco

Published 2019-05-06
Something about understanding gives us a sense of control...if we could just understand why things happen in our lives, we might be able to dictate the outcome of our circumstances. But even with the access we have to information, the harsh reality is, not only are there tons of things we’ll never understand in life, we were never really in control to begin with. Join us this Sunday for the next message in our Plot Twist series, as we all learn the key to embrace the mysteries in our lives and find the peace and freedom we’ve been dreaming of all along.

I'M in Sacramento California, want to know if the minister has any connections in churches or minsteries here in California not just on line. 😪😪😪 very misplaced Christian here however I've been watching your church on line with Ytube....need trustworthy friends and family.
  • What about extending the potter and the clay thing to what Timothy taught or said. Be careful (you understood) to BE a vessel of honour? Under grace of Jesus and Holy Spirit at pentecost, it's possible to yield yourself as a member of righteousness. (Except in extremely adversive circumstances put on you by people ignorant of the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus, and who reject the Holy Spirit, because they just do not want to be holy as HE is holy.

You’re misunderstanding Paul’s entire argument and so coming away with the opposite conclusion from he’s trying to teach. Paul is using a hypothetical argument to counter the Jews’ previous defenses of their wrongheaded belief that God is a God who chooses some over others. Just like what you’re saying today, the Jews thought Hid showed favoritism to some, then, and didn’t show favoritism to the Gentiles. On the contrary, Paul is teaching the good news of the Gospel, that God loves all mankind. And Paul is using the Jews’ false supports back against them. They thought God chose Isaac and Jacob, the second son over the first sons. But now that the Gentiles have come along, have come into the family of God as the younger sons Paul says they are now the Jacob and Isaac and the Jews are the Ishmael/Esau of the family. That the Jews are now the Pharaoh. And just as the Jews used to tell the Gentiles who objected to their belief ‘doesn’t the potter have rights over the clay?’ But now the Jews are the ones objecting to Paul. See Gal 4:21-28. So no, God doesn’t choose some, he loves all people.
