Leah Rosenfeld (Marlena Zodrow) was born in 1932 in Schneidemühl, Germany. In 1942, she and her younger brother Chaim were transferred to the Jewish hospital in Berlin, where they stayed until the end of the war. After liberation, they were moved to the Jewish orphanage in Berlin, and then to the "Ilania" children's village in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. In 1948, Leah and Chaim immigrated to Israel with the "Ilania" children on the "Negba". Their mother, Sophie Zodrow, was murdered at Ravensbrück.
