After months of silence, New Brunswick health officials say a mysterious brain illness that has affected 48 people, nine of whom died, may not exist. They point to autopsies that reveal the cause of eight of the nine deaths were misdiagnosed, but others say it’s too soon to come to any firm conclusion about the illness.
