Identity in Christ: Saddleback Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month

For many years, Pastor Rick has explained that Saddleback Church is an all-nation congregation. That means that our church family is a place where people of all ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds are loved and celebrated for who God created them to be.

Throughout the month of May, Saddleback is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month as our church family continues to pursue racial unity throughout our community. This special month is a time to honor the unique experiences of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and to celebrate the ways they have impacted the world around them.

AAPI Heritage Month has been celebrated in the United States since the late 1970s after Congress passed a resolution to designate a time to recognize this diverse group of people, including those from the entire continent of Asia, and the Pacific Islands found within Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia.

At Saddleback, our Asian American and Pacific Islander brothers and sisters have helped shape our church and have made tremendous contributions to our surrounding communities. We are grateful for the beautiful mosaic God has assembled at Saddleback and for this richly diverse group of people.
