If you struggle with back pain, traction therapy can help. Traction includes any practice designed to decompress your spine by creating a very small increase in space between your intervertebral discs.

In this video we’ll show you three at-home traction techniques to help accelerate the healing process. Safe and effective, these techniques have been used clinically for over a hundred years.

ANATOMY
Throughout the day, gravity naturally compresses your spine as you walk, particularly your lower back. With higher impact movements like running and lifting, compression is further amplified.

Your intervertebral discs account for 25 percent of your spine’s height, and those discs can become squished and dehydrated. Traction helps reverse the downward force and creates one to two millimetres of extra space, a tiny change that delivers big results when it comes to relieving impingement pain.

3 EXERCISES WE'LL LEARN
1) Standing Cat-Cow
2) Passive Hang
3) Long Child’s Pose

Hey! thank you very much! I have a question: Does traditional child pose also decompress the spine? Do any other relatively easy yoga poses do? I ask also because I couldn't find the way to hang myself, in the positive sense of the phrase... 😊
