In this SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED, we go over another faced paced, high intensity speedrun with that of Titanfall 2. This TF2 run is done by the world record holder bryonato, who just shreds their way through it in under 80 minutes. This Any% run is easily one of the most movement intensive and technically demanding speedruns around, with one of the deepest movement toolboxes in speedrunning, and makes for a great viewing experience!

"Ash skip is a skip where we skip ash" is an all time best explanation
-
"Lastimosa's Last-a-moments" fucking KILLED me.
-
25:40 imagine being a guard at a factory just minding your own business and suddenly a dude flying 10000mph comes out of nowhere and uses you as a brace to slow down.
-
Tomato: "I'm not going to explain coyote time, you should all know what that is." Also Tomato: "Ash skip is a skip where we skip Ash."
-
Just so everyone is aware, this is by far the most complete and in-depth dive into Titanfall's plethora of tech and skips that's ever been done in a format like this. Tomato spent a TON of effort and time with me making sure all the details were correct and re-working the script where needed... and we didn't even cover some of the other niche tech! Just big ups to Tomato for his dedication to accurate and informational content, he's the best.

and here i thought the only true tech was going through the gauntlet so poorly that the game just let you play on easy by default

25:34 “gentle Spartan kick” Proceeds to jam his foot in the enemy’s face at 125.4 Km/h plus the weight and power of cooper’s back heel
-
When you took that moment to say something comforting to the viewer, I immediately "put my guard up" as most people on social media say copy pasted hollow precooked lines that they don't mean to people and they make me gag, but that felt genuine, and nice, thanks.
-
"Edge Boosting" Ah, I've heard about this one before 😏
-
9:28 my mans bored as hell and spelling sex on the key display LMFAOOO
-
A speedrun looks more like how a pilot would actually move and think than average gameplay
-
A dev helping out the speedrunning community by telling them a better way to perform a segment is awesome, they're a legend.
-
“Gentle Spartan Kick” as he proceeds to kick the guy while going 125.4 km/h
-
Wait, so tf2 and tf2 run on the same engine? Cool
-
Wow. In the viper fight, right before he switched to Ion, he fired a volley of tone tracking rockets that viper dodged, a d you can see them fly off to the left. A second or so before he shot down viper with the laser core, the tracking rockets came back around and hit him. Didn’t think those things had a projectile lifetime that long, or kept tracking after the first attempt.

Big props to the runner for doing a truly amazing run, but i really do appreciate tomatoanuses' relatively simple explanation of techs that would take hours for me to understand, all the while being funny and HONESTLY wholesome and caring towards his viewers possible mental distress. Love you, man, keep up the amazing work

THANKS BRYON

"Yo teach thats wickedy whack, you should see the shit that coop do, he jump through time and shit, and turns into a baseball" fucking killed me

Honestly this is one of the best FPS game campaign I’ve ever played. The story isn’t anything crazy like bioshock or TLOU, but the character writing is really good and the gameplay is phenomenal. All of the mission design is crazy fun and even in a casual playthrough this game has some of the funnest movement of any game.
