If you also make YouTube videos, you don't have to break the bank on production value (obviously, lol)! Audio is more important than video, but a nice video camera will blur the background a bit.

I shoot with a Sony A6600: amzn.to/3Dc6xOY.
I use a basic tripod: amzn.to/32MXPtP

Planning a trip out west for the first time this summer (from Miami, Fl) and have watched just about every video on your guys' Youtube. Can't even express how useful these have been - just rented most of our campgrounds and I've never been more excited for a trip!! Thank you!
  • Best Friend's Animal sanctuary is a nice place to stop. There are a few nice hikes and the tours are very informative and free.

TY for the videos, they helped me on our family trip to Zion. Hope to make it to Rocky Mtn NP and out to Olympic as well.
  • Visiting St George, Zion, Bryce, Ouray, Telluride and Twin Falls next month. Not sure what winter looks like in February… We’ll try to bring our own weather and a good attitude!

I live in Florida and spent couple of weeks out in west summer, planning to do another 3 week trip next summer. I'm planning to explore Pacific Northwest coastal area. I'm taking again Amtrak like this year. Thanks for travel tips. 👍🙂

This video, and many of your others, have been super helpful in our planning. We are doing a west loop (heading from Indiana) through The Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Custer, Wind Cave, Grant Teton, Yellowstone, and Teddy Roosevelt! (Plus all the cool extras along the way!)Any insights on extra precautions/ideas for traveling with our visually impaired child? He’s very independent, has great navigation skills, and is excited to hike.

Many thanks for your great video. I booked my 2022 Grand Teton and Yellowstone holiday about 13 months in advance. No rooms available at Jenny Lodge nor Old Faithful (either fully booked or no rooms for 4). I also had to plan a work around for the car rental place closing at 10pm at Jackson Airport. I could only find 2 companies that offered pick up of car at Jackson and drop off at West Yellowstone Airport, so I am glad I booked the car as soon as they opened up the dates. We are booked in at Grant and Canyon in Yellowstone NP, as well as Jackson and West Yellowstone. I use google sheets to plan the itinerary and colour code the segments of the holiday to get a visual oversight of the flow of the holiday. (one colour for one park and another for travelling days) etc. I then use google docs to create a "brochure"! I wouldn't normally go to these lengths for a quick, cheap, holiday to the Mediterranean, but when I am travelling all the way to America, I need to maximise my time there! Anyway, sure do enjoy watching you two, many thanks.

  • As always great information, my number one of your list is, "Subscribe to We're in the Rockies " 🙂 The best. I'm heading to the Grand Canyon in April and I've followed all your recommendations from this video and am sooo looking forward to the trip. Thanks again for all the hard work y'all do to make it so easy for us travelers. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť
  • We are currently planning a trip out west for the first time summer 2023. You're not kidding about planning ahead....ideally 1.5 years in advance. We just started planning about 2 months ago, and we're already closed out of some of your recommended lodging sites unfortunately. We aren't planning to camp so the lodging (on a budget)is a challenge. We are planning to do everything we can while we're out that way (coming from NC) so your trip planners have been a godsend! Thank you Matt & Cheryl for all your hard work!
