Jamaicaā€™s open arms to Chinese investment in recent years has led many to contemplate it there will be any possible adverse effects on the country socially, economically or even worse politically.

Future Jamaicans will be renters. no one will own land unless we start buying land and stop from buying things that get Rusty and things that go out of fashion.

It's not just Jamaica but all over the Caribbean and Africa.

Jamaicans don't blame anyone but ourselves we want things we can't afford, like expensive political leaders these people didn't just walk in to our country, we invited them in
  • In a nutshell, Chinese investments benefit the Chinese and the Jamaican politicians, not the common people.

Shouldn't these issues be debated before they are implemented? How can the people not know what's being signed in their name?

Can't trust any Chinese whether local or corporate. Locals: caught red handed a skim bad rice among other things. Corporate: caught red handed manipulating markets and trades between US. Them go regret this dearly, mark 876brogad's words!
  • The questions we need to ask ourselves are 1)do u think the chinese or any other country was going to build these roads for free. 2) do we have the necessary skills, equipment, finances discipline and work ethics to complete a task on schedule. 3)who would monitor the trade unions and corrupt politicians to make sure finances are spent properly and within budget. I really don't believe none of these questions could be answered posititively. Case in point...the little bridge that was built by local contractors in Port MORANT , St Thomas took ten years or more to be completed and right now , two cars can bearly pass over it going in opposite directions. So my opinion is that only people with the skills, equipment finance and work ethics should be relied on to complete a task.

I kept saying Jamaica is doing exactly as Ecuador did after default on loans they "DEMANDED " lands to cover the loans and their selection was the richest natural part of that country the indigenous are forced off the land the rich history of the Paleo Indians will all be destroyed, I wonder for the PM to hand over this land to China was this confirm by the Jamaica parliament ?? , with these constructions continue to take place there will be another debt to be paid and what next to be handed over ? part of the Cockpit? their aim in the first place to produce coffee , tobacco and soybeans, I did remind folks as soon as the first 25 trailer trucks then the north coast highway will be fully functioning,

I have no problem doing business with the Chinese, however when your business is finished you must leave. Keep you paper and we will keep our land.

  • VERY GOOD JOB TEACHING THE JAMAICAN PEOPLE THE REAL DEAL OF WHAT'S THE POLITICIAN ARE DOING KI...LL OF THE POPULATION.
  • Future behavior can be determined by one's past conduct and China is no exception. Jamaica's day of reckoning is sure, symbolizing the beginning of her end.
