Thanks again to the local Fire Department for coming down and setting the record straight on both the safety of the effect and also how awesome it is. Remember to follow his safety tips if you build this! 🔥🔥🔥

If it being TOO real is a concern, maybe swap out the red for green! Get those creepy Malificent flames!
  • @TheLongjohntim
The sheen of the silver gives a great illusion of smoke.
  • @bren4409
Using the silver fabric was actually a pretty genius move. Not only does it improve the flame effects with the light reflections, but it's also kind of dark on the top, giving the illusion of smoke coming off the top of the fire. : )

Jay: you literally don't need any tools.

Need to put a demon silhouette in the middle window.
  • @lisahedge9204
I've used this effect several time over the years... We often have a blazing fire for our yard for the trick or treaters to walk by..with skeletons setting about roasting rats on a stick. ..lol the kids love it

    - "Alexa, light my house on fire."
    - "No problem."
    opens the gas valve

Man my neighbors tried this and are really getting into character too! They keep shouting things like “HELP ME!” and “OH GOSH IT BURNS, PLEASE SOMEONE GET HELP!”, they even got that real smokey smell and heat feeling. They even went the extra mile and made sure it covered their whole house. Gotta say I really appreciate their attention to detail.

With my luck I’d call the fire department about having a Halloween fire effect going on in my house only to end up with a real fire moments later. 😄
  • @LadyH292969
I tried this tonight, Halloween night and got sooooo many compliments on how awesome it looked! I added a small smoke machine to the mix and everyone LOVED it!! Wish I was able to add a small clip of how mine turned out. Love watching all your videos! Thanks so much for the great ideas!
  • Outstanding effect! Wish I’d have had this info a year ago when we were creating fire effect for a marching band show this would have saved hours of work.

Suggestion, we use a fabric called Poly China Silk for our flags because of how it flows in the wind. It’s super cheap, about $2.50 a yd. and available in every imaginable color. It would be a flamin’ hot and affordable product for this application.

The day time looks super real with what looks like smoke rolling in the middle window. Awesome FX
  • @Farfignewton29
Add a fog or smoke machine to blow out the window and you’ll have a totally convincing experience
  • Very nice. Now, you just have to find a way to convince your neighbors not to call 911 every few days. 😅
  • Come to Southern California—no special effects needed with the wildfires
  • @ZiddersRooFurry
I love that the Pirates of the Caribbean ride inspired this. It's one of my all-time favorite effects.
  • Kudos to you all for putting such an emphasis on safety in this video. It's reassuring to see Youtubers who take some responsibility for the craft ideas they put out into the world.
  • @MrGabrielJude
Nice! Firefighter costume will be Uber popular at your house, complete with cosplay fire trucks!! 😝
