UPDATE: (06/01/2018)… if interested, here’s a youtube video link to my other (most current) DIY misting fan. It’s also a 20” box fan conversion… but this one uses a "detachable” PVC misting bar (connected to top of the fan) • DIY Evap Cooling Fan! - "mist style" ...

thanks. you can buy the mist tube and extenders at home depot. the extenders just screw into the mist tube. the holes are predrilled

Thats actually a good idea for around your a/c nit.

Just moved to AZ couple months ago, good for my garage

I love YouTube for this reason! Thanks for sharing! This is a great way to keep our deck usable now on those blistering hot days. Even thou it has a full awning and a shade tree in front of the deck at times it can be to hot/muggy or both to sit outside. Now we'll be able to enjoy our deck even more

Thanks... I am going to make one of these for my horses!

I thought about buying an outdoor misting fan (Yeah, at $100-$300? NOT!). I like this idea much better because it's so much cheaper. I do a lot of work outside in the summer in north Alabama and a little relief is better than none at all. Thanks for the easy to follow directions!

you're genius. thank you for the diy.

Oh ! Okay, I understand now. So simple when you're explained. Sorry to say that I'm a slow learner (or rather I'm fast learner when things are explained slowly !… ;). Needless to say that english not being my mother tong it makes my "slowlyness" even slower !!!… Thank you so much for taking your time

They use a commercial version of these at Dreamworld QLD AU on particularly hot days. Good to see a DIY version

do you have a video showing how to hook the fan to the solar pannel? I want to run a straight set up from solar to the fans. thanks

after seeing this video, I'm going to do this to every single box fan in my house, I have 6. I will ask a ac guy to remove the central ac unit and go with this money saving option. great video and thanks for sharing!

Honest word mix up, but I understood what he meant perfectly. He meant it would lower the feeling of the outside temp by 30 degrees. So yes, you did miss something, the part where he said "it's 90 out here, but if you stand in front of it, it feels 60-65." Great and cheap way to beat the summer heat, and a great way to drag a stupid comment out of someone.

I made something similar but used a modified garden sprayer to supply water pressure. It works fairly well but the spray nozzles got plugged up. I installed a small fuel filter in the line just behind the nozzles. Now they no longer get plugged

where do you buy "misting tube"? thanks for the video

wow.. amazing air cooler... I have to make one.. its hot here.. and that may save me more money....

I like this idea as well. However I'd like to use a submersible pump, but I'm under the impression that the misters require a certain amount of water pressure. Any thoughts on the feasibility of using a small pump?

Hi. Thanks for this video. What is the box of water hose called?

Thank you for this great idea, I am a little unsure of where to get extenders and exactly how they are installed, do they make a hole in the tubing during installation or do you predrill or puncture ahead of time? I appreciate the chance to acctually know enough to do this as a project...Regards

Great, love it - Thanks

Great idea!
