This guy is simply a breath of fresh air. Most balanced and inteligent journalist ive ever heard.

It’s incredible to me how Fareed can be all worried about upholding the rules based order, while not seeing that what Israel is & has been doing, is the opposite of that in so many ways.
  • @Joe44944

Quote of the interview: "Our dysfunction within...that is taking this amazing hand of cards and making us play it badly."

I know he’ll never do it but I challenge Scott, as somebody I generally respect, to get an actual PALESTINIAN to come on this show the next time he wants to discuss Palestine

Fareed is one amazing spokesperson for deep knowledge, common sense, brilliant insights. ❤❤
  • @SeegerInstitute
I’m sorry when you were speaking about a regime which is good at avoiding revolution through repression, patronage and escape valves were you referring to Iran or the current United States government
  • @Voltaire80
Scott's insistence on Israel " Haven't killed more than others" is insane. pure insanity. Fareed is being kind to him the whole time.
  • @Robert-tc5is

Finally, Zakaria seems to recognize that the regional powers resisting the the dying Western order are getting harder and harder to push around. And he also seems to recognize that these geopolitical orders have to be fought for in order to be maintained. But you need your own people to be willing to engage in that struggle, and the US has been egregiously profligate with its own human resources in this regard. It is precisely Zakaria's class of people who have been in charge during the dismantling of US productive capacity (in energy and materials rather than economic rents) and the abandonment of "fly over country." The arrogance of "the citizens of nowhere" towards the bulk of the US working class is palpable. Now those people are supposed to believe YOU, Fareed, that they ought to sacrifice for YOUR order? No wonder there is division and dysfunction in America!

Never heard Xi Jingping talk about women going back in kitchen. Would be absurd if he did. Society is open in china. They are just not crazy like the west.

  • @Uofijustin
That was rich. Our society needs more of this.
  • I like what Fareed is saying and I think it would make sense to put an international DMZ of about 500 Meters all the way around Gaza as a mutual protection and have it staffed with you and troops. Saudi Arabia and the United States could pay for this. And it would be very wise then to turn around and invest heavily in Gaza and its people to rebuild Gaza into a highly educated and highly International Zone like Singapore or Dubai.

Having said that - Fareed: we the people would love you to RUN FOR GOVT OFFICE!
