"There is no truth in flesh, only betrayal." "There is no strength in flesh, only weakness." "There is no constancy in flesh, only decay." "There is no certainty in flesh but death."
  • @singletona082
Fun fact: They used a 150 year old church organ for this song.
  • @DigitalApex
40k Mechanicus is what happens when you let devs that actually like the IP to work on a game
  • Me before playing Mechanicus: Eh, don't particularly care for the Mechanicus, kinda boring. Me after playing Mechanicus: The flesh is weak, the machine eternal
  • @blam320
Technically, if the Mechanicus ever saw a Terminator, they'd blow it to smithereens. While they do believe that humans should strive to become more machine-like, they also believe that artificial intelligence is an abomination, and an affront to their "machine god."
  • @mariacyr6494
Fun fact, this was the artist's first OST and first serious project (that I'm aware of at least)
  • @jamborabbit
The Machine is immortal. Praise the omnissiah
  • @blankspace2185
Oh I love mechanicus ost and sound design in general. The combination of synthezators, pipe organs and the choir is genius, and the way they did the binary chant is amazing. Cannot imagine mechanicus sounding any other way after this game.

Man how did i never thought to recomend this ost, i feel ashamed, its a goddam masterpiece.

Alert: Synaptic resonance increasing. Machine spirit temperament degrading. Noosphere connection stable. Disconnect? Disconnection overridden -- proceeding with strategic overlay. Processing. Complete. Xenos structures analyzed. Analysis: Perverse. Synaptic resonance stabilizing. Machine spirit appeased. Response? Response: THE FLESH IS WEAK.

"Children of the Omnissiah" is from the same game, it's short but beautiful (maybe to short to do a video on it but you may enjoy just listening to it)
  • @povilzem
The organic parts make up the smaller part of the soundtrack, but they're by far the most noticeable and memorable. This works. The Mechanicus strive to replace most of their body with machinery, but also to keep their human soul, because true AI is very much tech-heresy, as THE SOULLESS INTELLIGENCE IS THE ENEMY OF ALL.
  • @Grimmers
I love that you couldn't help but nerding out into the lore for a good chunk of the analysis lol
  • @emptilion
Man, this video got me to get this game. I played space marine back in the day, and that was my only ever exposure to 40K. Really enjoyed that game. I have played a bit of mechanicus, and man, the music, and sound design and the art do so much for this game. Really enjoying it so far. I'll never get into tabletop gaming, and I know the videogames are very hit or miss (with a larger amount of misses than hits), but I definitely want to invest myself more into the 40K universe. The lore I have heard and read about is so fucking cool and interesting.

From the same game the Children of the Omnissiah ost is considered to be one of the best 40k music out there. It's a bit short compared to this but its amazing.

Glad that you are touching w40K uni. Thank you!
