Diablo 1 HD - Belzebub is a mod for the original Diablo (Blizzard, 1997) that, besides adding lots of monsters, spells, and objects, also improves the resolution by adapting it to more modern screens.

Besides these additions, which will surprise and delight veteran players, in Diablo HD - Belzebub you'll find two new character classes (barbarian and assassin) and more difficulty levels.

Other new features include new locations and final bosses that will make the game even more difficult. The legendary Butcher and Skeleton King will be in good company with huge new enemies.

Diablo HD - Belzebub is a gaming experience very similar to the original, but with lots of additions that not only make it more playable on modern computers but also add a lot of interesting content.

  • My dad used to play Diablo and we would try to play with him. He passed many years ago and I cant help but smile watching this remembering watching him play.

Diablo 1 was a master piece, it wasn't just a arpg hack and slash. It was a forbodding horror, the music created a world of fear.. it was truely a piece of it's time, the likes of which I believe we will never see again.

Man, I still remember reading and rereading multiple times all the lore for the character classes, weapon and armor classes, and bestiary from the original manual of this game. PC games from that era generally had a lot of creative production in their instruction manuals. It's one thing I truly miss today.
  • @EX583
You know the storytelling is next level when you’re not even watching the screen but the voiceover paints vivid pictures. Great video
  • I don't like walkthroughs for story because they usually don't talk to every single NPC between events but you did it dude. You actually did it.

I actually love Diablo 1. I like the fact that it all takes place in one cathedral that burrows it's way all the way down to hell. It's super claustrophobic which adds to the terror and creepiness.
  • Found this today after getting a character to 20 in Diablo 4's beta. I didn't get the chance to grow up with these games, so I really am glad this video exists. Your love for the story really shows through.

"Perhaps the man most acquainted with liquid in town: Farnam the Drunk has some words of wisdom on the matter." "YoU drInK WAter?" "Touché." Always makes me laugh.

"The sanctity of this place has been fouled" Is what I say when I use the bathroom after someone else pooped. Also how many people sat there and made that blue fallen say "You Kill Uglies" over and over again? I know i did.

I love that every voice actor in every dialogue gives it 110%

I think a lot of people either forget or never realized that despite being a fantasy RPG, Diablo 1 was also very much a horror game. It was a brutal, demanding game that would eat you alive (literally) if you charged in unprepared. Sometimes I miss the more methodical nature of the first game compared to the more arcade-like feel of the newer games.

I want to like a lot of content creators but many of them make it so difficult. They don't edit their scripts, they mispronounce common words, stumble through sentences, use incorrect language, etc. This video was a real breath of fresh air - clear, confident speech and language with a good flow for storytelling. Great work! You earned a like :))

Storytelling really is an art. Even with redundant attack animation you still keep us tuned in and make it flow with the story.

So many modern games tempt you with hyper realistic graphics, but D1 is the true testimony of story and atmosphere being the most important aspects of unforgetable game.
  • @ForceEdge47
The story for D1 really is unparalleled. It's almost like D1 is the main story and all the sequels are just epilogues to the main events that are D1. I think it has to do with the fact that the cast is so small and you get to know them so well. There are recurring characters in 2-4 for sure, including some who stick with you on your journey, but none of the games connected me with the supporting cast as much as D1 since you have to talk to them so much and they are always the ones helping you out, as opposed to splitting the supporting cast up between acts.
  • @DonJonWon
Every once and awhile, you come across a channel that just absolutely blows you away. Thanks for this one, Dark LORE Dash. The way you tied storylines and gameplay together is impressive and you can literally sense the enjoyment and passion while we listen. Great job! 🤠
  • @thegood9
I can remember actually being scared when I first opened Diablo for the first time. It was EVIL in a game...and I LOVED IT! So much fun and nothing ever like it up to that point.
  • @bunnyrape
I can still recite the Wounded Townsman's speech verbatim to this day, 20+ years after I stopped playing D1 with my dad and we started playing D2 together. We had very different personalities and would frequently argue, but when it was time for Diablo we'd always be able to work together on the same team. Good times.
  • @JillLulamoon
I really like you included a small adventure with the rogue character in this story recap. Canonically, all three heroes arrived in Tristram at some point I believe, though the warrior was the one to actually slay Diablo. If I remember correctly the wizard didn't arrive until after Diablo was defeated and left the town quickly. The warrior became the Dark Wanderer, the rogue Blood Raven, and the wizard the Summoner. Anyway, wonderful video!

Ahhh, being a kid, not having responsibilities, not having a sense of time, living in the nostalgia and not knowing that it was nostalgia. Enjoy being a kid while knowing that your parents are alive and well, not old and healthy. I miss it so much and this game reminds of that!
