This was my and my husband's song. He left this world way too soon at 37 just last week. He would play this song whenever I was going through something tough. He had tamed my wild heart 13 years ago. We had almost 11 years of wedded bliss. I am missing him so completely right now and this song will always be ours.
  • Anyone else on a Savage Garden binge in 2022??? I loved this band back in the day, but appreciate Darren's beautiful, poetic lyrics so much more now. "If you need to crash then crash and burn you're not alone" ❤
  • My whole Childhood I was depressed this song help me in so many ways this song could never get old an angel is planted in this song... anyone going through depression just remember it's going to be okay 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I lived through the 90s and had no idea how great it was. I'm 30 now. I want to go back.

This song hits differently now compared when I was younger. After going through a lot, struggling a lot, I appreciate this song even more.

This song is literally like a guardian angel speaking to you.

3:13 the moment when Darren Hayes breaks into sign language just tears me up. I remember standing in front of the TV when this video would play and learning the moves. It literally felt like I was reaching out beyond just regular words to tell someone "Let me be the one to call..." Maybe I was reaching to the universe, maybe I was reaching out to myself, but I don't think any music video has made me feel so connected. The video in hindsight is also one of the best of the era. It's got those weird people in it, and as the quote goes "broken people fix broken people". Thank you SG. This band was woke before it was cool and became uncool.

Man, I can't believe it's been 21 years since this song came out. I still remember when it first hit the radio. Time flies.

My favorite part of this is the bit with the sign language, because to me it shows that he's talking to everyone.
  • I loved this song as a child. Now, as a therapist, I realize this song was ahead of its time. I love how it talks about depression and anxiety.
  • Please bring back the 90s for the love of God! I love your music Savage Garden. You guys are the true meaning of what represented to live in the late 90s (1997-1998 to be exact). You guys are awesome.....love this song and love my 90s generation. The 90s was a revolution and a movement that will live on until I die. Long live the 90s and Savage Garden. God Bless!
