Hello,
I removed 2 dams and left camera for a night, to see what gonna happen. Beavers came few times at night. They rebuilt it during few hours. Surprisingly they were HUGE! I guess old ones.
1st time they appeared after 7 hours, when I removed it.

  • Beavers are industrious creatures! Nature has given them incredible instincts to build very good dams. And the older the beaver, the better the dam. If left alone, beavers will create massive structures. I saw one that was at least 10 years old and had finally failed. It wiped out an entire section of highway. Truly amazing! Thank you for sharing your beaver neighbor's building technique!πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜„

Thank you for this. This shows that they are not using the branches you took out already. They are coming in with new stuff.

fascinating,i always assumed they just floated sticks and debris downstream and hoped it would hook up and stay, now i see they actually place the sticks and even force them into the bank or the dam.great video

Yes, that’s cool. I never thought about them building from both sides. I always thought it was from the upstream side. Interesting.
