  • My mother in law worked at the Lodi A&W in 1942. She was 15 and was a carhop. They invited her to attend the 100 year celebration party.
  • I love that WW1 music and singing of OVER THERE. Great history on A&W Root Beer!

I have ordered some memorabilia from this Lodi location such as old mugs and the customer service has always been great. As a matter of fact, I'm having a glass of milk right now in an A&W rootbeer mug that I ordered from Lodi! Hello to the good folks in Lodi!
  • Hi you two. I have been by the current A&W store in Lodi and now thanks to you, I now know the history of that great tasting root beer. It's nice that the both of you can explore places and things together and have fun doing it.When Angie and I were first married and the first 30 years of marriage, we were gone every weekend to who knows where but we always had fun finding historical places together. Your videos bring back much joyous times for us both. Thanks for the memories Jim& Angie
  • I grew up in California, but moved to Michigan for a couple of years, and became a CarHop at an A&W.
  • 👋 Hi Jeff, Hi Sarah. Oh, a big thank you for this blast from the past. As a kid, drank mostly A and W root beer. Most other soft drinks didn't sit well. ( burp). I absolutely remember the named burgers and the floats. I also remember a jug that more looked like a jug for hooch. One was in this video. Great trip down memory lane. I've told my 85 year old neighbor about your channel. He's enjoying it. Sometimes, we compare notes ! Cute Mama Bear face walked with you at the end. 🐻 Thanks!
  • @SusanGK1
My husband and I enjoyed this episode. I have him hooked on History Hunters! He is also a history buff.
  • @robroiboi
Great memories; Our family was more like the 100 gallon club.
  • @Idahoguy10157
My late father was a big fan of A&W. At age 12 in 1970 I enjoyed a frosty mug with a Papa Burger. Good times!
  • @TaborEaton
I was a frequent customer at the Paso Robles, CA location on Spring St. before it was demolished. They had waitresses on rollerskates!
  • @mrsehj
My Uncle and Family Ran a A&W Root beer Stand in Washington State, Indeed there was a Mama Burger Papa Burger, Teen Burger, Baby Burger and for a while in the 70's a Grandpa Burger (with 3 Hamburger Patties!) I remember my cousins in their uniforms with the change machine worn on a belt around their waists waiting on cars as they drove into their order station. I miss the frosty mug of root beer on the window tray along with my Mama burger and fries. my favorite was a Root beer Freeze with a side car of vanilla ice cream and a Coney Island. Oh please, take me back!

A&W is still very popular up here in Canada. I live in a town of about 150K people and there are 4 or 5 here. And if you're lucky you can get free root beer lollipops when you visit. They're amazing!
  • @jebbyk7620
I sure enjoyed this episode, having been to this A&W. At one time they had a bell that guests could ring on the way out to express their appreciation.
  • @johnward6699
I always remembered their onion rings were awesome
  • @ericseaton7923
Nothing weird about having A&W being served in South East Asia. Its a great drink!
