  • Watching those poor soapy jeans getting neglected drove me nuts. I cheered like my team just scored a touchdown when they finally got sucked in

We purchased a new washer recently, it replaced a good thirty year old Kenmore, at first we were concerned and then we read the manual and figured out how to use it. The machine works well; the technology is sound.

I am sort of drunk but my friend sent me this video and it is the best thing I have ever seen, I love it, keep up the good work

Idk why this fascinates me so much😂 I'm easily pleased obviously
  • The agitator-style washers, especially the Speed Queen, pull every article of clothing into the agitator and scrubs them numerous times in plenty of water, completely submerging the clothing between each interaction with the agitator....truly the gold standard of how a top-loader should work. I cannot see how these impeller-style machines could do a good job. We had an impeller washer for 8 years, but replaced it with a front-loader recently. I love watching the clothes tumble and drop in the soapy water in a front-loader.

I recently bought a Maytag top-loader, with an impeller-agitator bin. That is, it’s an impeller model; the agitator doesn’t perform the same function as the old agitators, they simply prevent clothes from piling up on the center of the disk. At any rate, there are pros & cons. My old front-loader was easy on the clothes, and really wrung out the rinse water. But it smelled moldy, despite my cleaning and leaving the door open. Also, the dog’s fur got stuck behind the gasket, and it had to be cleaned regularly. So eventually the gasket gave out. Ugh. The new Maytag takes forever, but is very frugal with water, and somehow manages to get everything clean, although many commenters don’t believe that. But it gets unbalanced if you look at it the wrong way, and the clothes are still pretty wet at the end, meaning that you have to run the dryer longer. And it seems to create more lint than my dogs and kids could ever create! So to be honest, I can’t recommend one over the other. They each have good and bad points.

I have this similar model when Maytag first came out with the no agitator water efficiency washer over 10 years ago. The clothes were okay clean, came out much drier than my previous 30 y.o. Kenmore agitator model. My state CA gave out energy rebate offers back then so the new Maytag washer cost about $250. I would think twice if I had to pay full price. Thanks for the video showing how these machines actually works. Maytag could have used a glass lid instead of metal one.

This helps a lot to SEE how the washer works under that metal secretive door!! Thanks!!
  • That is so cool i never saw inside a washing machine but this video makes my day
  • My instruction on similar type says to add detergent before clothes. Which I thought was strange but seeing this in action. I understand why. Soap gets resolved and actually cleanses garments well. Thanks for posting this. My Curiosity has been settled.
  • @texanne88
Thanks for posting this! My machine has no agitator and I always wondered if it really fully washed clothes. 👍🏼

I have a brand new whirlpool one like this I got this month October 2023 and I like the clicking and humming better than the loud agitator tub spinning and filling with water and the spin cycle. This is so much gentler on my clothes a quieter and more efficient energy wise and water wise. My clothes come out feeling softer and cleaner and smell clean and feel like they have been spun out better
  • @StephaneThinel
Thank you for this video. I just bought this type of machine and I am ''surprised'' how they work Not sure I will like it in the long run /
  • I’m glad I watched this video I just went out and bought me a speed queen Toploader spent $1100 but well worth it it beats the shit out of the dirt and the clothes come out clean as a whistle no complaints end of story
  • @1s3e4you5
Why is no one talking about how cool it is to watch this?
  • @theunkownmr.562
This is exactly why i don't like a top load washer without an agitator. Your clothes just kind of sit there due to the lack of water and continuous agitation from a washer with a traditional agitator.
  • @petermaz701
Nice post, but definitely reinforces my opinion that I prefer the vintage Top loaders better.
  • Nice "blooming" action. Focus on a piece of clothes. I focused on the blue jeans. It started at the top, went under and came back up. Very good washer!!!
