Alternative LED Side Lit Grow-Light Station: Great for Older Maturing Plants: Two Minute TRG Tips

Published 2021-02-19
A side lit grow-light station and a south facing window is perfect for older transplants as they need less light. I start them at a different station and hold them here as they wait to go outside. Use LED lights with 5000 Lumens or more and 5100k or higher Kelvin Rating/Daylight.

Great alternative i bought 4 of those lights after watching your video using them on the side is something I would have never thought about love your channel 😉
  • @Just-Nikki
I have a 4 shelf indoor greenhouse set up like this in a window. Everything seems happy growing there. Of course my starts aren’t in the same greenhouse. Love the short videos.
  • @stevenquick4315
I wrap my shelves in Mylar blankets to reflect the sun and lights back on the plants too. I love your channel and have been using your tips and techniques for years. Thank you for all you do!
  • @garyjr6851
I had a problem with these exact shelves bowing, so I switched to metal shelves, way better than plastic.
  • @rymijemaluz
I've never seen the lights setup like this. Great idea!
  • @UpperAquatics
Nice! I've been using those shop lights for a bit now. They work pretty well.
  • Genius! Really slick setup, nice that you only need a couple of lights instead of a couple for every shelf.

Thanks my peppers are getting too big so this is definately the way to go. It is nice to see them flowering too.
  • Absolutely love this ! I bought the same exact lights in this video & was worried about too strong or not enough. I use the 24” LED grow lights already & needed a larger radius of lighting for next stage after seeding trays. Mind at ease👍thank you ! Hello from New Jersey 👋
  • @smile30981
What a genius idea, thank you!! I have a grow light station but I'm definitely going to need room for my older plants because I started too early (I was excited for growing season) LOL
  • @ecobluefarms223
Thanks because my tomatoes are outgrowing my seed start area and it’s mid March til predicted last frost just around the corner thanks
  • @myrustygarden
Wow excellent idea as always. I had a question about seed starting, sadly I follow all the rules and steps but my seedlings always seem to have tiny roots (just revisited your peppers video) yours had great roots mine look like someone cut them all off. 😢 what am I doing wrong? Any suggestions are gladly accepted 🇨🇦✌️💐🥕🥬🧑‍🌾🌶
  • @akeemwaite
Thanks for the video! I saw some flowers on your young tomato plants. Do you generally leave those on?

Can you please remind me again. Once tomatoes and pepper plants are a litter older, how much light do they need until they go outside? I remember you saying less light at a certain time but I could not remember how much. They are still on the 16/8 light schedule. Thanks
  • @valjalava1951
Do you put your tomato plants on heat mat ,mine seems to dry out my plants, also what temp should the room be at for growing seedings
