  • Since I am disabled now it is nice that you two went up and hiked Half Dome. I was in Yosemite when I was a kid but didn't hike up Half Dome. Also, thank you for reviewing the history of the area. That is WORK going up there.
  • Enjoyed this segment, I don't think I could go up the cables, I have such a fear of heights. Kudos to both of you to make it to the top, breathtaking scenery and liked the history element.
  • Having lived and worked in Curry Village from 1979 to 1984, I have climbed half dome via the cables and via the Snake dike route (easy by rock climbing standards). Yosemite valley and Tuolomne Meadows were a 2dn home to me from childhood through my time living there. As a child, my uncle lived and worked there for the park service, on and off, and while I was not aware of the privilege I had as a child being able to stay in the Ranger's Club and, later, in Ansel and Virginia's house behind the their photo gallery, I look back in absolute amazement. I recall, being 'low person on the totem poll' during a slow early Spring season, I was relegated to work in the Yosemite Valley grocery stores gift shop. I was humiliated until I saw a figure wander in the back door... Ansel Adams himself in his last trip to the valley to see the dogwood blooms. I, in total awe, introduced myself and explained my relationship to my uncle, an old friend of his. We chatted for about 1/2 hour before he left to wander the village. I was truly blessed that day.

I've been up Half Done 3 times. The last time I opted for the mule trail to Nevada Falls and was resting when 3 Cowboys came by. One said I was beautiful so I told him to give me a ride to Half Dome. They did. Easiest trip to Half Dome ever. Walked back down to the Valley and the guys waited at certain rest spots to make sure I got down safe. We had a great time and we were good friends for many years to come.

Oh Wow! I'm exhausted! What an adventure.......what beauty! Don't blame you guys.....you've conquered the dome before....Congratulations!

One of my favorite places in the world. I’ve climbed half Dome so many times that I don’t remember the number. My family and I vacationed there every year growing up

Just found this!!!! What a great video, guys! This brings back memories of all the hiking and back packing I did over twenty years ago. Never made it to Yosemite so this is a treasure for me❤
  • @BrentMcMurray
Ive started to go back and watch some of your older videos! It's been such a long time since Ive been to Yosemite, it makes me want to go back this summer. Ive never hiked half dome, maybe its something Ill try this summer.

Thanks to you guys for the walk/hike, Love your channel, Peace
  • @bthompson1767
Luv u guys for doing these vids I enjoy watching and learning
  • Vernal Falls brought back a memory. In the 70’s eight of us lugged an ice chest full of beer up those stairs. We called them The Stairway To Heaven after the Led Zeppelin song..

Thanks for this video! Loved the history surrounding Half Dome and the trail to it. I was at Yosemite last fall and did the hike to Vernal and Nevada falls. That hike seriously kicked my butt, can't imagine doing the extra distance to Half Dome, then having to scale the cables and hike all the way back. And I'm still in my late forties! Maybe I'll give it a go my next visit.
  • @edwardkenny2356
Excellent video and information. Myself and 4 others did Half Dome in 2004. Experience of a lifetime. Thank you. 😊
  • Gosh, at 68 yrs old, I don't know if I could make it to the top. Quite the hike. Enjoyed watching the video.
  • @fountainbiker
Beautiful video Jeff & Sarah! I climbed it in 1991 and loved the views up there. A lady in front of us on the cables lost her sun hat and sun glasses when a gust of wind blew by us and we watched them slide down the rock side face. I don't thing I'll try it again though...

I would love to take a picture where Teddy Roosevelt stood. I named my son Theodore after the 26th president because I knew he was going to have an adventurous spirit. I loved the video and I had a feeling Jeff was a cradle robber since Sarah looks like she's in her 30s. I was born the year you first climbed half dome back in 1979. God, time moves so fast.
