me calling everyone a simp and then drawing him twice in a row
so I figured I could do better than my last drawing of rui (the fanart one) and I wanted to give him prettier eyes so here we are entering a contest as an excuse to draw this beautiful design <333 i don't really expect to win which is like totally fine I literally just wanted to draw rui again LMAO
so yeah here you have it, got some lighting going on and a bunch of weird overlays bc I didn't know if I wanted to go with a blue nighttime feel or a vibrant red >:((

4. sketch with base colors
5. rendering (changed the mouth like 4 times)
6. outlining + hair details
7. more base colors (changed the flower color to match the reference)
