i wanted to wish you a late happy birthday with this drawing! i've never actually gotten so detailed with rendering and lighting before so I hope it turned out alright! <3

1 ✩ beginning sketch
2 ✩ base colors (eyedropped from reference)
3 ✩ outside glow
4 ✩ continued
5 ✩ darker shading (leave room for the glow to still show!)
6 ✩ features for reference
7 ✩ begin rendering face (sketch hidden, added blue to the shadows for cooler contrast)
8 ✩ rendering hair (used gradient from light to dark to create a gradual shadow)
9 ✩ lots of hair rendering ;; (changed the eyebrows to white, deepened the eyelashes, added halo and glow to the hair)
10 ✩ finished face rendering (changed the eyelashes to white, lightened the nose outline, started working on the feathers + shirt)
11 ✩ yellow overlay added, finished the rest of the feathers :) glow effect + blur added
