Global IT outage: Australasia & Asia hit by outage with broadcasters, airlines & banks affected

Businesses including banks, airlines, train companies, telecommunications companies, TV and radio broadcasters, and supermarkets have been affected by a mass global IT outage.

Sky's Nicole Johnston who's currently in Beijing, said businesses across Asia & Australasia are being hit by the outage.

    Had a queue in front of me at the servo ,6people couldn’t pay their bill for petrol no cash in their wallet, I was the only one able to pay and get out of there,cash will always be my friend.

    How can ALL of these individual companies ‘go down’ like this? Surely they ALL have top of the range internet protection and backup power supplies etc. this just does not add up.

    One expects a single organisation to be subject to "cyber outrage" but not multiple organisations over several countries?How could this happen? We are all clearly one step away from disaster.. 😮
