I had never really read much fantasy or sci-fi when I jumped into The Broken Earth Trilogy blind and it was GLORIOUS. Nothing else of any other genre that I've read since has hit me the way this series did. Perfection.

I have definitely been in a reading slump for the past month or so. I read a book that I thought was going to be amazing, and it just put a stop to reading (for me) because of how disappointed I was in it. Sometimes videos just come at the right time. I really hope that I can get out of my reading slump with one of these books! Thanks ☺

Great concept for a video! I’ve been wanting something like this for classics as well 😅

And then there is me who started who adult fantasy journey with Assassin’s Apprentice- I loved the UK covers and it being a long series broken up in trilogies and a quartet I figured if I didn’t like it, I could easily bow out. Little did I know that Hobb would become my favorite author.

This was the best video to wake up to. Can't imagine a better person to deliver it!

Such great recs. I've been following you since college days and you've introduced me to some of my favorite fantasy reads, especially happy I read the stormlight archive ❤. Thanks for the recs!
  • @TheEarnestReader
Love these types of videos especially from you Regan!! Being a fantasy reader I am always on the hunt for more recs.
  • @hockeyvaughnfan
Thank you! I watched this at a time when I was trying to decide on my next read & when you mentioned Six of Crows, I was like 'I've had that for ages but never got to it so this is a sign to finally pick it up' so that's my current read :)
  • @jenny-pixie
Love your recs! I’m currently reading the Jasad heir from where you talked about on your tiktok, which is great so far after a big reading slump. I’ve been following you ever since 2015 so I always trust that you will have great book picks:)
  • So many of these are on my tbr! Im reading The dragon republic in The Poppy war trilogy right now and It’s sooooo god. Excited to get to Misborn maybe this summer!
  • @mommamea9507
Thank you for this! I always thought I'd be bored of fantasy since I'm a character driven reader, but I really enjoyed Divine Rivals and have just picked up Tress and the Emerald Sea. Fingers crossed!
  • So many good suggestions here!! I just read and absolutely loved Six of Crows (and Crooked Kingdom)! And currently reading Way of Kings, so I’m all over the place as far as levels go 😆
  • @soflacomet
Great recommendations! I’m adding a few to my already ridiculously long TBR lol.. thank you for this great breakdown
  • @JuniperJenniJump
This is a great list! A little surprised though that some more seasoned books didn’t make the list, maybe a little Ursula Le Guin or Mary Stewart.
  • @Lea-bg5kp
This is such a welcome video at this point in my reading journey especially since you’re such a fantasy expert haha
  • @Jodi9810
Great list! After I found your channel a few years ago I got into fantasy, and have started reading and loving many of these - so thank you!! A bit of a nitpick, but after hearing Hobb's various titles named dozens of times in your videos I can't help feeling compelled to point out that most of her titles don't begin with "The" (it's Assassin's Apprentice, Assassin's Fate, etc.) The only exceptions I see among all 16 are The Mad Ship and The Golden Fool. I just suppose (not being an author myself) that Robin Hobb put a lot of thought into the titles of her books being as they are.

Thank you so much for this video! Love it !
  • @litkituni
Love that it’s in levels! 👏🏻🥰
