"Invincible" from Tool's "Fear Inoculum" album (2019).
Sorry it took so long to finish this guys. I transcribed the first 30 bars of the songs in the second week of the album dropping in uhm.. August? I can't even remember, but I do remember starting a new job in that same week. Then there's also a lot of other things that happened so I just wasn't motivated to cover Invincible.
I released that cover of Sweat a couple of weeks ago and the response was prettty good. So I decided to just get it over with and cover the damn song.
I'm not super happy with the tone during the bass solo, but it's fine I guess. I also missed a part at 3:20. There's some sort of weird whammy note there, but I just couldn't get the sound right so I didn't do it.

Some important information that nobody is going to read.
Tuning : D-A-D-G
Artist : Tool
Bassist : Justin Chancellor
Album : Fear Inoculum (2019)
Song : INVINCIBLE
Bass : Warwick GPS Corvette 5A Ash

Merry Christmas everyone! I know it took a while, but it's finally here! The reasons are all in the description. But for those that don't read the descriptions, here's a little summary : I transcribed the first 30 bars of the songs in the second week of the album dropping in August. I also started a new job in that same week. There's also a lot of other things that happened so I just wasn't motivated to cover Invincible. I'm not super happy with the tone during the bass solo, but it's fine I guess. I also missed a part at 3:20. There's some sort of weird whammy note there, but I just couldn't get the sound right so I didn't do it. Anyway, enjoy and good luck with this one cause it's a tough one.

You know you’re listening Tool when the bass sounds like lead guitar and lead guitar sounds like bass.

My guy wears a Perfect Circle sweatshirt to do a Tool song, the madman
  • @anonecki
That bass solo is absolutely incredible

3:45 is so great. The way they mix the time signatures until they finally meet back together at the end of the phrase sounds so filthy and satisfying.

Stunning...You deserve 1M sub just for that. This video will become the base of all the bass players covering this song... Cheers from Canada!
  • My fave part is 3:45 where the bass and guitar start together, then alternate, then end up back together. Sounds badass

Dude, just wow once again! You nailed everything and it's so great to finally see someone play the solo! Huge respect :)
  • The whole song is amazing but holy shit that bass solo is bonkers. Justin's tone is so sick and you captured all of them so well. You nailed it sir.

this bassline is one of most efficient i'd ever heard. spining around perfectly, simple, and the synergy between all the instruments is so strong thanks for the video!

The timing with all the delay/chorus effects on all the songs on this album throw my head into a never ending spiral 🌀

That was incredible to watch. It made me appreciate this song to a whole other level. I was already amazed by the bass playing but to see you play it blows my mind. There was way more going on than I had originally thought as a non musician. And the solo. I for some reason thought that was Adam Jones. It reminded me about the sonic stuff he had done with his bass playing in the past that I had forgotten he would do. Incredible video. You nailed that so hard.
