PS5 Network Issue and How to Fix it

www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/w1k9vk/ps5_r…

$130 Games are Here… Woof

www.pushsquare.com/news/2024/04/usd130-version-of-…

So, what do you get for almost the cost of two full-price PS5 games?

The base game is bundled with its season pass — which will add two story-focused expansions after launch

Two cosmetic packs for protagonist Kay, her spaceship, and other vehicles, a digital artbook

The chance to play the game three days early, from 27th August 2024.

With the base game set at $70 and the Gold Edition costing $110, it means Ubisoft reckons the early access and season pass are worth $40. Those extra cosmetic packs and the digital art book then add an extra $20 to the overall price.

As someone who works in IT, I always encourage people when possible to use an ethernet connection. I have a 6 GHz mesh network and I still connect everything hardwired when possible. The less things you have on the wireless network the better.
  • @isayzhitl
Im glad you're embracing the importance of physical media
  • @iangator
If they even tried to revoke access to our digital games THAT WE ACTUALLY PAID FOR/OWN... cue the lawsuits
  • @creddycreddy
To fix the issue with that license prompt is to go to settings->users and agreements->allow console sharing and offline games.
  • @Slyfox1775
Once they have full control of digital games and there are no more physical copies people really thinks there will be all these massive sales ! 😂 when the market is open and diverse this is what dictates prices . Let’s see once competition is gone. Never worked out in history
  • I had the same issue with banishers and a few other games when my Wi-Fi went down at my house. I couldn't play any of the digital games I had because it has to check the license for them.
  • @robzo87
Thank you for covering over this WiFi issue with the launched PS5 version having connections issues, JC. My digital console is having problems with spectrum and it can be quite mental. I regret not going physical, but hopefully this problem is resolved in the future, but just like yours…it’s nearly 4 years old now 😭
  • Thanks for the heads up on the digital games authentication problem. I think I’ll only be buying physical games from now on.

Weird I was on holiday recently and since I came home my ps5 has been having difficulties with the internet connection where there was none before. Losing connection, ridiculously slow connection etc. was fine before I went away... Thought it was isolated but now I realise it's a much bigger deal
  • @jeffgrit
I have a ps5 as well as a Xbox series x, and I rarely ever connect to the internet and the Xbox never askes for license verification on my digital games.......
  • Regarding the $130 ultimate edition for Outlaws is extremely simple! Don't buy it!
  • @Soulcommander
First of all Jimmy of course we want you to continue with your pickups we want to know what games you've purchased! You know when you brought up Ubisoft and about the connection issues it really took me back to the early 2000 days when Ubisoft partnered with StarForce copy protection and it caused a hoopla of frenzy on everybody's computers. I am the guy that discovered the problem with StarForce copy protection and how it was disabling CD-ROM drives because the copy protection was constantly checking the disk to make sure that it was a legitimate copy. It was causing issues with the CD-ROM drive dropping eventually into peo mode a slow operating mode and then eventually the CD-ROM would die. I did figure out that you could disable your CD-ROM drive by turning your computer off unplugging the power from the CD-ROM drive booting back up and then back down and plugging the CD-ROM back in and all of a sudden you would be back in Ultra DMA mode. Giving you more time before it eventually would drop back down into peo mode. Ubisoft was having a hard time believing me and it took a lot of other Gamers with having the same problem and communicating with me before it was exactly a year to the day that I discovered the issue that Ubisoft decided to drop StarForce copy protection from their games. Dennis Zidkoff with Star Wars copy protection out of Russia was not a very friendly person calling me a hacker and saying I just wanted to get all games for free illegally which was farthest from the truth. So hearing you talking about Ubisoft and how they're always wanting to connect and check the game really pisses me off. I got out of PC gaming and back into console gaming all because of Star Force copy protection and Ubisoft. It's a long long story but the short of it is us gamers need to stick together and if we do then we have the power they don't!
  • @pierrebarr
Glad to have you back on board with the physical media!
  • I completely agree and understand that a required internet connection is total B.S. "in my opinion"...😮‍💨
  • @swicked86
Sony just needs to recheck licenses once a month.
  • This is a great video! Jimmy and yes please keep up with the physical pickups.
  • @usnsquid4350
Please keep updating us on physical pickups!!! ❤😂
  • @GaryOpengo
That's why I always use ethernet connection , it's always stable as Keanu trust.
