Great reaction. I’m comfortable saying that because that’s how I’ve been greeted throughout my life rapping. (By black people) That’s what I was called in prison (by black people). That’s what I’m still greeted today by the guys I grew up rapping with and did time with. That’s not the N word bro. Much love
  • As a white boy from the sticks, I applaud the way you got through a song that was clearly uncomfortable for you in order to see the message. Respect for your thoughts and opinions. Keep it up man. Road to a million won't be long with such professionalism.
  • @YurrNext
No person can offend you, taking offense is something you choose. If you know who you are, words are just words.
  • @harddobe
You say you don't say the word because you don't want to give it any power, but you can see just how much power it has over you when he says it. I can see you wrestling internally with it as you are working through the song.
  • Stevie you should reach out to Adam and have him on for an interview.
  • @hardchooligan
Lists 10 racist stereo types about white people "i don't really see how racism is coming into play yet",says one magic word "if that was him he lost me already". You are right man this video does show where we are at right now, lots of ignorance on both sides. Either we can all say racist stuff,or none of us can. Until we stop playing the these are my people and words, and those are your people and culture they will keep pinning us against each other just like the song says
  • @stacyjane8014
I absolutely understand old Stevie’s reaction. Seeing who you are now actually gives me chills. Never give up, my friend. You are making a difference 💙
  • @yupinmywhitet2
This is a GREAT reaction, those emotions he created needs to be talked about. Think about how he some how got you explain how you felt, to all these hundreds of thousands of subs. That’s therapy for you and all of us, let’s end Racism! This is footsteps toward that goal!
  • Adam grew up in a black community, Chicago to be exact. Also Steve, ANY word has as much power as you give it. But I'm glad these songs are surfacing, they're sparking conversations across the internet that most people are "uncomfortable" engaging in. It is much needed before the media and politicians divide us all 100%.
  • @Brianpeckin
Uhh this had nothing to do with comparison.... It literally about theirs good ppl in everything, and words and stereotypes means shit cause everyone is their own individual
  • The fact that you have the abillty to "check" yourself. Especially midst having an emotional reaction. You are full of wisdom my dude. People can learn ALOT from you. Love watching your videos.
  • This was a really powerful reaction to this song, thank you for posting this and not cutting the video during the reflection moments. I value seeing actual reactions to the song, I'm glad you guys were able to talk I have that playing next in the queue.

Racism is racism. Words used to denigrate another person based on the color of their skin is bad. Period. To say that one is worse than the other plays into the idea that racism against a certain group of people is fine but racism against another group of people is unacceptable. Given the fact that you typically call out all racism when you find it I’m a little surprised by this reaction. Not to mention, despite your talk about the word being divisive and removing it from your vernacular, I have yet to see you blink an eye when a black rapper uses it 800 times in a song. Big fan. Love your breakdowns.

Stevie I love you fam, love how you have an open mind. That being said I have to say that me being white and growing up in a black neighborhood being called a negative connotation is something that gets your blood pumping. A degrading name is just that, degrading. When someone says it you aren't thinking about "hey at least what they are calling me is not as historicaly bad as what some people call them." Also I have had black people screw me over, I have had white people screw me over, I have black people that I call my brother and would die for, I have white people I call my brother and would die for. I know that word hit hard for you fam, but don't let it deter from the message. Much love bro. 🤜🤛🏿

Watching SK battle his own conditioning in real time is so uncomfortable and exhilarating at the same time 🤯 Stevie a real one
  • @yarrowcentral
Came from your Tom MacDonald Adam Calhoun video recently. Amazing to see how these songs have pushed the conversation and your thinking and all of our thinking forward to understand these things and how we can actually start to address them. Love your growth man. Incredible stuff
  • @bdoubleu6
It’s because you have emotions towards the word that gives it power if we don’t care about the word then it loses its power let it go my guy your letting a word make you feel inferior and that what it was designed to do much love bro
  • @JayAsh15
Respect homie.. Takes guts and strength of mind to sit through something like that and still keep your emotions in check. Keep up the great content brother.
  • @sludgesupper5377
Its so interesting going back to watch this video now seeing how much your perspective has shifted bro, bless up

My guy, first time seeing this, been a Calhoun fan for forever, I know aren’t going to see this, but just saw your interview with Adam, that made me look this up. I been a follower of you for at least a year now, never knew you reacted to Calhoun. Much love bro!
