On Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 hundreds of miles off the Colombian coast, a team of Coast Guard TACLET Operators, quickly launch two long range interceptors from US coast guard Cutter Munro.. to pursue a makeshift narco submarine enroute for the United States. The teams rip through the Pacific Ocean, in a high-seas pursuit- as the sub desperately makes a run for it. With only a small window of opportunity to stop the sub, one operator would leap onto the sail and make them.

TACLET (Tactical Law Enforcement Teams) lead the fight against the proliferation of narco subs. They are one of the Coast Guard’s premiere DSF units. Founded in 1982 with the sole purpose of stopping drug trafficking on the deep seas. While many units that fall under the the coast guards deployable operations group and DSF umbrella.. TACLET teams are masters of Tactical Operations, Close Quarters Combat, and Maritime Law. Candidates must complete an 18-month long selection process before earning their highly coveted Tactical Law Enforcement Badge.

  • @PopoMedic
What Narco story should I cover next? >:]
  • As a coastie I approve of this recognition. We often joke that we’re just glad to show up in media. Even as the cutter that got obliterated by the aliens in Battle: Los Angeles.
  • @1110631
Thank you for covering this. The Coast Guard/Revenue Cutter Service has been involved in every conflict this country has been in after the Revolutionary War, yet rarely gets a mention. Law enforcement is just one of the things we do. Retired Coastie here, Semper Paratus.
  • It’s actually very interesting to hear of the different ways smugglers move their shipments.
  • I was in the Coast Guard for 8 years, and this kind of thing was every other week. It kind of upsets me that it took this long for people to notice.
  • As a highly skilled and decorated tactical operator of cod, battlefield, medal of honor, ghost recon, counter strike, and halo I am amazed by this content
  • When this story came out, every branch all had the same feeling, the feeling of a proud big brother giving “the nod”
  • You could always cover some of the absolutely nutty rescues the Coast Guard has pulled off. Or any of the other branches
  • The Balls of the Coast Guard Operators are so big that Im shocked that the Sub didnt sink in the bottom of the ocean once they step foot in it
  • While I was in Charleston sc at the FLETC where all USCG ME's go to A school they had a drug sub that was very similar like the one the TACLET operators boarded in this video. Its absolutely insane how cramped it was inside for four people at one time favoring cargo space over anything else. On a further note the craft had literal engines of a farm tractor custom fitted into it while the entire craft was mostly made out of fiberglass it's something i'll never to be able to do again and I loved the experience.
  • My high school chemistry teacher was a member of TacLet from 83-93 he then went back to teaching until he retired in 2021, Mr. Wolfe was a badass
  • Some people got Christopher Nolan, we got Popo Medic and I'm stoked. Always excited to see a new video.
  • I have a buddy who does TACLET. I remember when he joined the coast guard instead of going to college, I thought it was a cool job but I never thought of them as military operators… Then one day I got a picture of him gearing up to do some gnarly anti terrorism operation in the Middle East (not even sure what country). From then on, I’ve always had a great respect for coasties. They do a lot more unique and awesome jobs than most people know about.
  • Just imagine being in the middle of the ocean and suddenly you hearing someone banging on the hatch lmao. And dude your video quality is getting better man! Loving it
  • @champford
I remember watching this when it was current and just being in awe of how badass it was
  • Absolutely LOVE your mini docs, your content is not only informational but dodges all the bullshit and gets to the point. story is always told in a good tone, and hooks you in from the moment 0:00 , i know you put a ton of work into these so i just wanna let you know it doesn’t go unnoticed and keep it the fuck up brother. you’re amazing. i would absolutely love to see a longer doc maybe 30 mins idk anyways love you man.
  • Holy shit Popo you’re just getting better and better with your video graphics, perfect narrater’s voice to the actual facts collecting and story telling. How are you not hired by a high dollar studios to do a highly funded documovie that hits the silver screen? I see awards in your future bro! 🏆
  • Imagine chillin in a submarine doing drugs with your homie and hearing a knock on the hatch.
  • Popo might be one of the best and underrated YouTubers of all time. That's big praise, but dude is an incredible editor, writer and has a great voice. Talk about talent. Thanks for all you do Popo.
