Simu Liu using stock photos against them haters was just the cherry on top

I kinda hope Kate and Shang stay platonic, it feels like you hardly ever see good platonic girl and guy friendships in movies. (Also the grandma asking when they're gonna get married just seemed like a grandma being a grandma)

“I play with myself everyday “ - Shang Chi

This was hands down my favorite Marvel film. Awkwafina's character actually reacted like a regular person. Who is confused and questioning everything.

I'm not Asian but I ABSOLUTELY got the ABC joke right off the bat. SO clever. Whenever I am asked about this movie I equate it to Black Panther; great origin story film, has layers for the culture and people it is speaking to directly, and really didn't have much to do with the main MCU so you can watch it completly separate and still enjoy it. It was a nice palate cleanser before the calamity that is about to happen via the multiverse.

Tony Leung...dear God. I mean that level of performance is expected from him but wow. And the action. What a movie.

The filming of each and every fight scene had me mesmerized. This movie was incredibly good! And im soooooo grateful it introduced me to Tony Leung cause that man is amazing!!!

So Wenwu goes dark after suffering the trauma of his one true love dying and misuses his powers in an attempt to get her back that will result in many people being hurt and he's the bad guy. Scarlet Witch on the other hand...

"They even show a dating app for those who've been blipped, so y'all can get blopped." You sir, are a comedic genius.

Awkwafina was toned down like 85% and it was perfect.
  • @tarettime9392
This movie showed me how airbending is supposed to look in live action
  • “Leaves behind his Infernal Affairs” I see what you did there😂

I remember the ABC joke happened and I thought most of the audience wouldn’t get it since there was surprisingly only 2 other Asians at the premiere, but the whole audience chuckled. Didn’t even connect it to the alphabet, but it was clever writing in hindsight.

Fight scenes were AMAZING. Story wise it was solid. Some reaches and Deus ex machinas but all in all it’s in my top 7 if not 5 marvel movies.

This movie really surprised me. I went into the theatre thinking I wasn’t gonna like it, but it was really good. Camera work and VFX was something I noticed was really great.

I had to stop short and look up Benedict Wong when I heard that accent. Did not know he was English. Also, Tony Leung was a perfect choice for the dad. He had to play a warrior and a romantic partner and danged if he didn't have the presence, looks and charisma for both. I mean, I was watching this dude being fairly evil (I mean you really did feel for him although you'd think a 1000 year old man would be harder to buffalo) and thinking dayum... that's a good looking antagonist.
  • @Devillionaire
The whole ending part between Shang-Chi & Wen Wu is so good. Very little is said and it’s almost entirely visual storytelling. From Tony Leung’s legendary emotive eyes to how each martial arts sequence by Shang-Chi shows his character arc in consolidating the legacies of both his parents, without a single word ever needing to be said out loud about it. Even the finishing move Shang-Chi kills the Dweller in Darkness with is a callback to his father’s fiercest attack. Gorgeous, epic, and mesmerizing. Everything I love about movies.
  • 5:39 "...and leaves behind his Infernal Affairs" 5:43 "The whole set was In The Mood For Love" 7:44 "Michelle reminds him that Tomorrow Never Dies (...) to take out this Hidden Dragon" I see your Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh tribute there, and I appreciate it.👍
