Ultraman and other Tokusatsus were very popular here in Brazil, in the 70s. My dad recalls watching a lot of those on TV. As a 90s kid, for me there was only Power Rangers, which is already the "westernized" version of Super Sentai. I've NEVER seen an Ultraman game though. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
  • as someone who actually grew up with these games, I'm gonna explain the mechanics of these games: 1. Ultraman Pretty simple, you can punch by pressing square, and kick by pressing x. If you mash square or x or combine both of them, some attack varieties will play out. You can also modify your attack by pressing the attack button while dashing or running. To block, hold circle. If you hold down the circle button when the enemy is about to use its special attack, ultraman will create a barrier to shield himself. To grab enemy, press circle and push the analog stick towards the enemy. There are some grab varieties depending on which direction ultraman grabs the enemy. By default, pressing triangle will make ultraman use his hand shower technique. It's useless and looks ridiculous. However, you can fill up the bar in the lower left corner of your screen by attacking the monster to be able to cast stronger techniques by pressing triangle. 2. Ultraman Nexus press square to punch, x to kick, triangle to grab, circle to do special attacks. You can combine the attack buttons to do combos or even do aerial combos. If you get air combo'ed, press triangle to recover which can be followed up to a punch or a kick. You can also do the aerial "recovery" manually from the ground by pressing up twice. Filling up the bar will grant you the ability to cast stronger special moves. If your bar's filled up, press circle once to use the strongest special, press twice to use the second special, and press three times to use the regular special. You can block by pressing down or back on the d-pad. Beware that grabs cannot be blocked and can only be avoided by backflipping. To backflip press back and triangle. Special moves can be blocked but it still reduces your health bar. Monsters controls a little different than humanoid characters. Monsters cannot block, if you press down, monster will consume a energy ball instead that fills the special bar. 3. Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3 Press square to do light attacks, triangle to do heavy attacks, circle to do stun attack, x to grab which can be followed by square, triangle, circle, or x again for different grab varieties, back to block, R1 to cast hand slash technique, R2/L2 to change forms, and L1 to summon your jets. You can modify your attacks by pressing the d-pad while attacking. You basically just have to attack the enemy to fill up the stun bar. The stun bar is the pink bar below the health bar of your enemy. The fuller the bar, the longer your opportunity to charge up for stronger special moves. To cast special moves, you first must stun your enemy by pressing circle. Then, the face buttons show up on screen. These buttons light up differently depending on how strong the special move. The longer it lights up, the stronger the special moves. This part is pretty much a guessing game. If the enemy presses the same button as you, they will block your special, if not then your attack hits. Same goes for the enemy. 4. Ultraman Fighting Evolution Rebirth Not much different from 3. Except, you don't have to stun the enemy before doing special moves. Just hold R1 and press the on screen button. But you do however have to fill the special bar manually by holding R1 whenever you got the chance. Circle now becomes a charged attack button that can deal massive damage and potentially stun your enemy. Now, every characters are limited by having only up to three special moves. The strongest special move is now a guaranteed death move that will instantly vaporize your enemy even if it's casted when your enemy still has full health bar.

I found a fansub of Ultraman Nexus years ago, I started watching it but I cant remember if I finished it. Even though it was supposed to be a more adult take it was still very cheesy. Had a bit of fun watching Tokusatsu series for a little while, mostly Kamen rider but the best one was probably Garo. Garo had some solid martial arts and was a bit more adult, it even had demon ladies showing boobs.

I say I love all three games you played, I never will get the chance to cuz I don't have a Japanese PS2. But I'm just going to see more and more destruction you're doing pretty well with Eleking, getting on top of Ultraseven and body slamming him until he eventually throws you off and that you end up falling into the buildings.
