“If they won't arrest you, were here to conduct a citizen's arrest.”

Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters gathered in Washington, DC, to protest against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as he addressed the US Congress on Wednesday. The protesters called for a ceasefire in the Israeli war on Gaza and the arrest of Netanyahu, as prosecutors seek a warrant for him at the International Criminal Court.

After several hours, the crowds in front of the US Capitol began to surge, and police started using pepper spray to disperse them. US Capitol Police accused the protesters of being “violent” and of failing “to obey our order to move back from our police line,” a charge that demonstrators deny. Later, police made several arrests.
