I’m a fan of Nunez but I think this is Jotas season if he stays fit!

Jota is clearly better than nunez by a long distance, and that's never really been in question. Everyone with eyes knows that. It's obviously just the fitness that's the issue. If Jota stays fit, he's number 1, and Nunez coming off the bench could be a huge asset.

To be fair Nunez has been back a few days...you can see the difference in the players that have had tine under the new system. Nunez will come good - I just know it.

I think this is Nunez’ last season to really show his £85 million pound price tag or else he’s gotta go, this will be his 3rd season.. no more excuses to not light the league on fire

I know it's just one game, but even from last season you could see that only half of our forwards are prolific. Our biggest issue is when the injuries hit and the strength in depth comes into play.

they were clumsy today Vs Las Palmas. .......and yet they allowed Las Palmas to goad them into a clumsy showdown. Happy there was no injury

Jota starts the ssn, and Nunez will be brought up to speed. Nunez will also be better with the first team regulars.

I really felt as if Gomez was a completely different player towards the end of last season. Great composure with the ball and the calmness just like VVD. I think he is an important player but it feels sad to see him not get a chance at the big stage regularly. He deserves to be a starter in PL.

Honestly, if you think about it the amount of change is quite different for the better players, people like Robbo and Darwin will slot in easily in the other team with the 1st 11. It could be better, or the same but something different.

I think slot will work with nunezand start jota. We'll see nunez come good later in te season, if not agree he needs to move on

Has everyone forgotten Nunez wasn't mainly Benficas central striker, he was the left forward & produced his best form which got him move, why arent we playing him left next to Jota & Salah!

I love nunez but start jota this season until nunez gets upto speed, even today he wasn’t running in behind as much as normal and i know it’s pre season but he’s just started training again whereas jotas had weeks. Nunez off the bench for the last 20 is so perfect like he’ll be so effective, i do think he’ll be starting by the end of the season if he gets a good run of games cus if he’s trusted for a few games he’s always great it’s just when he’s worried about being dropped that he is hit or miss

I want to believe in Nunez sucess but he was shit, he's so poor with the ball

There was so much flip flop from fans on Nuñez last season, first everyone hated him. Then he shows up for the middle of the season getting goals and assists and everyone loved him, then he fell off again at the end and the hate returned. All I’m saying is if you don’t like Darwin fair enough but don’t switch up between supporting and hating, keep that same energy all throughout 🤷🏻‍♂️

The only decent players in this game were the keeper and Conner..The rest were average to poor. Its onky pre season so i won't right them off yet

I'd love for all of us LFC supporters to think where we are before a ball has been kicked in the new season and feel, an incredible sense of strength.

Nunez Doesn’t Seem Like He’s gonna Fit Slots Style man, Relying On Jota Is A Scary Proposition Though.

At the end of the day Nunez is a good player and has the ability to have 15+ goal premier league seasons and make a difference, But the whole media are slamming him for joining one of the most physical talented leagues, He played in a league with way less intensity and He has struggled to adjust to the team in England. If you watch him play for Uruguay he is one of the best he plays very well... I think people slander the amount he misses but at the end of the day he only gets x amount of chances per game compared to a player like haaland that will miss 10+ shots a game but score 2. Nunez is a very good cut inside striker like a winger however he rarely gets balls played through the lines and I think he would benefit from through balls.
