My PCOD story - I am 17 years old right. I had been having irregular periods ever since I was 12 years old. First my gynaecologist said irregular periods were normal and they would get well in a few years. So we agreed to that. When I turned 15, I started gaining a lot of weight around my problem areas. We went to a homeopathic doctor who gave me some medicines. I took them for more than 6 months, but nothing worked. I again went to a different gynaec who suggested that I shouldn't take any medicines since they interfere with the body's natural course. She just asked me to exercise, eat well and maintain a healthy weight. Exercising is very important if you suffer from PCOD. Then almost 6 months ago, I started doing yoga. I did many asanas, especially kapalbhati everyday, and I have been having my periods regularly for the past 3 months and I also lost some weight. My experience in short : I would recommend not taking any medication. Eat healthy, exercise, do yoga. It'll get better.

I'm so happy that you did such a brave video. I was diagnosed with PCOD in 2010. I'm a proud follower now! God bless you. Keep all the good work going...
  • You're doing a great job by educating young girls about this. You go girl! ❀
  • @jenncoker6950
You are so great to share your story with your viewers. You can help so many people by sharing your experience. I also suffer from this but didn't have it diagnosed until last year and I am 34 years old. You're so right about staying active and making healthy choices. PCOS isn't an excuse to just let yourself go. Good for you, Friend.

  • Admitting your weakness on a public platform?? 😲 This is a very gutsy move.. More power to you girl :) you make us so proud πŸ‘ I have mild pcod due to stress and weight gain. I can relate so much to you. But I would shy away from admitting it. Your post was so on point. It was very informative.you inspired me. I'm truly thankful to you for this post.you go girl!! ❀✌
  • You go girl! #powertoyou. It really takes efforts to come out of our shell and speak up about something that people/family/friends may not approve of and it was really brave of you to do it. #majorappreciation. Also, thankyou for spreading awareness about such an issue. I'm sure it's going to help a lot of other girls who are in their awkward teenage phase too.

Hi SJ! I'm a PCOD patient from about an year and inspite of being a biology student, I didn't have much knowledge about how to take care. Firstly, I'm really skinny and it was shocking how I could have a disorder as such in the first place. And since I was under huge amounts of stress, I wasn't even sure how to take care of myself. I totally understand what you've been through because of the sudden hair growth and acne and to talk about it is just commendable. I'm sure your late grandparents would feel so proud of you. You're an inspiration to so many young Indian girls. I can't even tell you how much more confident and determined I feel to get rid of PCOD and love myself for who I am after watching you. Loads and loads of love. You rule this world, girl! πŸ˜˜πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»
  • thank you yar shreya , my sister is suffering from pcod from last 2 years and only today did she told me , she has been putting lot of weight she has acne problem she has facial hair growth , i used to scold her for being so fatty but today when she told me about this ( she didnt told me earlier as i am his brother , she may be feeling odd to tell me this ) but you know what she is my baby sister and i am feeling very guilty now becoz i used to scold her due to ignorance , damn i will now take her to a doctor for her checkup
  • Thanks for this video. You are such a humble and genuine girl. I have been watching your videos for a couple of days now. Awesome ideas and very inspiring.
  • @niyatis2529
One of your best video! Very brave of you to address PCOS, it has become really rampant amongst young women and yet, nobody talks openly about it.

Indian education should have all these topics and subjects like how foreign education has. Just the maths and social really do not have anything to deal with life tbh. Indian education is a bad education system. I'm suffering from PCOD too. I'm married trying to get pregnant. I'm 23 and I just came to know what these PCOD and menstrual cycle and how it really works. Because Indian education never taught me that. I right now live in Kuwait and I'm trying to cure it with all that hurt and badly broken inside. I hope someone sees this comment and raise your voice towards Indian education.

WOW! THIS ONE IS THE BEST VIDEOS OF YOURS. I AM REALLY IMPRESSED BY THE COURAGE OF YOURS TO TALK ABOUT PCOD SYNDROME. I AM ALSO THE PATIENT OF PCOD. I AM ON MY MEDICATION AND OF COURSE I AM DOING YOGA REGULARLY. THIS IS SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AND TALK ABOUT, BUT PEOPLE WON'T DO THAT MUCH. FEEL SO GOOD AND INFORMED AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO. KEEP IT UP!
