I live in NH in a small town near Mt. Monadnock. We are in a neighborhood of 39 houses surrounded by conservation land. We get black bears in our back yard every spring and summer. We do not let our dog use it in those times. If we are sitting outside, my husband is prepared with gun. It is more dangerous since it seems to always be a Mom and cubs. So you don't have to be in the middle of no where to deal with bears. Get armed.

That is my dream place❤️ no traffic, no noise, and especially no people! As I’ve aged, a lot🤦🏻♀️, I don’t have the need for chatter or t.v.’s or drama! Just peaceful, mother nature sounds and sights! I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but you should look into a flail mower, specifically with hammer blades. That will cover your rock problems, can handle brush, and leaves a pretty smooth finish cut.

You should get gmrs radios higher wattage and you can get a repeater put high up in a tree so you have full coverage on your property.

Oh man. I so understand it when you say "this is where I am supposed to be". I live in South Africa and years ago I went on a 5-day hike in a national park. Only 8 people, not a car in sight, surrounded only by nature and wild animals. I remember I had this overpowering feeling that THIS is how man is supposed to live. I think it was that same sense that overcame you. Total peace, total calmness, not in need of even one thing else.

Look into a flail mower with hammer blades .... does a good finish and can handle some thicker material. You can also get ones that offset and tilt which might come in handy.

Always always always keep wasp spray and deet in the cab of that tractor. You could find yourself incapacitated out in the middle of nowhere.

not having a signal in an emergency seems kind of scary, especially with snakes and bears and coyotes around, I hope you get something installed to deal with an emergency communication out
