    1. Sing their names if they're sitting well "I like the way that James is sitting" to the tune of 10 little indians 2. Whisper to get their attention 3. Game - Simon says e.g. If you are sitting on the carpet crisscross applesauce and your hands are in your lap, scratch your head, pop a bubble in your mouth, beep your nose, etc. silly, fun stuff 4. Game - Dog & bone 5. Address children by telling them what you want them to do, NOT what you don't want them to do e.g. Instead of "Don't run", say "Use your walking feet"

I feel like a first time teacher. Teaching preschoolers is nothing like teaching first or second grade students. Thanks so much for your wonderful videos

My first year as a preschool teacher was rough. I had so many different staff coming and going from my class.

I am teaching English for preschoolers and my class today was quite messy. Sometimes I think myself is so gentle that the kids don’t follow my instructions. I was searching through YouTube to find some suggestions and stumbled on your video. Your video really made me feel better and have courage to try new ideas for the next class. Thank you so much!

You seem like an amazing preschool teacher. The kids must love you! I’m covering a temporary preschool position and feel like I’m drowning. Thank you for these videos.
  • Thank you. It would be nice if colleges offered a practical child development course with tips like these. would have been a good accompaniment along with topics like Caribbean history 🙂
  • I just got a job being an assistant teacher at a preschool and I start next Monday. I'm going to be taking notes on this, thank you!

This is actually pretty helpful, I’m idk if in going to be a full on teacher, but I’m helping out in my church’s preschool soon! I wanted to feel a little more ready. Thank you ma’am, you’re great at your job!

Thank you so much for your wonderful tips. I have a preschooler and kindergartener of my own and I volunteer at our church for Sunday mornings and our Awana program. I know there are good ways to talk to littles, but I'm so tired and often need a kind of "script" to practice in my head to prep myself for moments working with kids or else I'll just not say the more helpful thing and I'll make things worse. Thank you Thank you! This will sooo help me and my Awana Cubbie directors/teachers. ❤

Hello Cindy! Thank you so much for your videos. I'm a new esl teacher in China and this song has worked out great with my kids. They even sing it with me and I also combine it with a reward system. The effect is immediate . I really appreciate what you do!
