one of the most diverse, expansive and underrated discographies in all of metal. love this band to bits. also symbol of life is one of my favs from them wtf lol
  • @TBaggins96
Obsidian is actually my favorite PL album. 10/10 perfection.
  • Nice to know there are more people out there that appreciated One Second and Host. :-) I liked them all.
  • @Questformetal
Saw them play draconian times in full was amazing that album is my favourite but they have no bad albums
  • @alex_flamer
Wow 17 albums! This band seems like the Overkill of doom metal. Literally pumping out new albums like clockwork with no delays.

Paradise Lost one love. It's such a joy to hear such well put words of praise for this great band ❤

I have a hard time picking a favorite. I seriously love all of their albums. There are a few that I don't go back to as much, but I can at least find some things I enjoy about them. I'm gonna have to say my favorite is The Plague Within. Part of me wants to say Draconian Times, but I think Plague Within has more variety.
  • I'm a fanatical concerning they're first 4 albums and they're last 5 albums. Esp The Plague Within. Great job on the episode and great job with the reviews. Thanks for covering this often overlooked group. An amazing band with very powerful albums.
  • @Manolonation2
Well, the cover for In Requiem and Paradise Lost was from Seth (Septic Flesh), so you are spot on the comment...
  • @MrOmac09
Such an amazing band, not a bad album in the bunch. My personal favs are Shades of God, Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us, Medusa & Obsidian.
  • @TheSlysterII
Thank you for such an honest review of all albums, there are a few that I missed, and I will be checking out because of you.
  • Full disclosure: I am not a metal fan (disco, new wave, dance music person), but I am a new fan of this channel. Your commentary style is spot on and your honesty is refreshing (as in, you don't love everything in your genre, you distinguish the good from the bad). I discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago when watching a review that either Rocked or Crash Thompson did a couple of years ago on Danzig Sings Elvis. I looked around to see what other creators had to say about it and found your review. That led me down the video-watching rabbit hole and here I am, a new subscriber. Keep doing what you do and rock on!

Paradise Lost is my favorite metal band, so I was trying too hard not to judge lol. Great video overall! I have many favorites: Icon, Dranconian Times, Faith Divides Us, Shades of God, The Plague Within, and Obsidian. Least favorites would be: Lost Paradise, Believe in Nothing, Symbol of Life, and Medusa (maybe I need to revisit this one though).

Funnily enough, the albums that got me into their music were those more alt-metal sounding ones from the 2000s, because that was the kind of music I was into as a kid. Like I have so much nostalgia for Believe In Nothing, and I still fuck with a lot of the tracks on it, but it was so interesting to discover their early material as a teen, because it was not what I knew them for at all.
  • They are a great band, with a very interesting discography tbh especially since they changed their sound quite a bit like you said if it makes me interested what they do next for an album. S: Gothic, Obsidian, Shades of God, Medusa A: Faith Divides us Death Unites Us Draconian Times, The Plague Within, Lost Paradise B: Icon, In Requiem, One Second, Host, Tragic Idol C: Symbol of Life, Paradise Lost D: Believe in Nothing Would be cool to see you maybe do the other bands in the peaceville trio (My Dying Bride, Anathema) in the future.
  • @robr2303
Icon 1993 Host 1999 Symbol of life is really good lyrically....all their albums are perfect though.
  • @thunderspike1892
Draconian Times, One Second and Host are my favorites. I'm just not into all the growling on the earlier and later albums. But there are great songs on these albums as well. I actually like Believe In Nothing. The McIntosh/Holmes Project Host are phenomenal.
