Waking up early isn't my favorite thing to do, even when it's to fly a 747...

  • Seeing a pilot fly an 747 wearing Street clothes is like seeing your grade school teacher wearing shorts at the grocery store 😂 I really enjoyed this vlog, thanks Kelsey!!!
  • You being a professional heavy airliner pilot in a hoodie is freaking hilarious.
  • @jcxxx18
The fact that this man is a YouTuber and a freaking Professional Pilot 👨‍✈️ is awesome 👏🏼
  • I could seriously watch a 3 hour video compilation of Kelsey just flying places, waking up in hotel rooms & getting to & from the airport. Yeah, I don’t have a lot going on in my life…🤣
  • @Joaquin_D
Only a pilot will have a ACKNOWLEDGE button to silence the wake up alarm.

For anyone wondering those planes with "BETA" on them are from BETA Cargo (Brazilian Express Transportes Aéreos), founded in 1990 had a total of 5 planes, one Boeing 707-320C and 4 Douglas DC-8-73CF, they ceased operations in July of 2012 after there license was revoked. Looks like right there are 2 of the DC-8 and the 1 707. Since both type of planes were already over 10 years out of production when Beta was founded in 1990 they propably found no one to sell them to and they have been sitting on that airfield for 11 years now. The Green MAP planes belong to "MAP Linhas Aéreas", still active currently operates 5 ATRs of various types. These 2 there are missing the props and landing gear, so i am assuming they are used for spare parts.

More of these please. Living vicariously through your lens. I'm a retired Army helicopter pilot (only 800 hours - I flew a desk a lot) and I've always had an interest in the big planes, especially the 747. Thanks for showing the crew area behind the cockpit (or is it the flight deck?). I also enjoy seeing how you spend your off time and the locations you see. Thanks!

I love how Kelsey is just chilling as the acting captain, wearing a hoodie with aviators while flying a 747 above the clouds. Man must feel like a total boss. I would love this job!
  • @bbs5400
I’m so glad your employer allows you to record while flying now, really cool to see this
  • @rbenz3010
What an honor to have a 747 captain take the time to bring us along on this trip! Thanks so much!
  • @mw12349
i love the way you keep it so real Kelsey. No pomp just down to earth tired hard worker. you're so humble. Love it!
  • @arghyam6
The quality of these vlogs and the edits are amazing. Shows the effort that goes into it. Hatfs off to you sir.

My tip for never leaving anything behind in a hotel room: I always get a room with two beds. I sleep on the bed that's closest to the window and put my stuff on the bed that's closest to the door. I NEVER put anything closer to the window than where I'm sleeping-that way my stuff is always in front of me. Once the "stuff" bed is clear then I know that I have all my stuff. It's never failed me.

So happy to have discovered you and your channel here Kelsey as I've always been an aviation enthusiast, and many of my jobs over the past thirty years or so involved lots of domestic and international air travel. Your down-to-earth way of communicating and sense of humor are also very refreshing (I loved your comment regarding acting as though the people at arrival areas were waiting for you, and getting a kick out of it, etc.!)...
  • @Valerie_Dawn
The first time your videos popped up on my feed was a couple weeks ago. I must say, I’m hooked. It’s such a great mix of air traffic control vs pilots ; what went wrong ; travel the globe. Really interesting and enjoyable
  • @Parawingdelta2
My father was an Air Traffic Controller in the Royal Air Force for over thirty years. I occasionally use to go to work with him at night when I was in my teens when we lived in Malta. Dad was a Flight Sergeant in those days and I can remember another much younger commissioned officer controller arriving shortly after us. My father's first words were "It's your turn to make the tea sir". I overheard some grumblings to the tune of "It's always my turn" as the young officer commenced to make the tea.

I used to be a aircraft mechanic on the 747F, and if the coffee maker didn't work, the plane didn't take off till it was fixed. Needless to say we kept a lot of spare coffee makers. And FYI when you pour coffee down the sink it drains overboard, which is why a lot of planes will have brown streaks underneath. 😃🇦🇺
  • You give great perspective, from the captain's seat you can really see the sheer mass you command, and the responsibility you take on. Thank you sir.
  • Love you.... How refreshing to a) see behind the scenes, b) by an actual 'PILOT' c) who has grown his geekish wings to become a 'SUPERMAN'. You sir are amazing. x from Australia
