This week’s film breakdown analyzes new Colts Quarterback Matt Ryan, a move that ultimately keeps the Colts swirling in a whirlwind of mediocrity. They are now on their 5th quarterback in the last 5 years and are setting an example of how NOT to run a franchise, under the guise of running a successful one. Ryan is 37 years old and has struggled in the past several seasons, is he the answer for the Colts after a couple of middling seasons? This week’s episode uses the all-22 coaches film to analyze the Indianapolis Colts new quarterback Matt Ryan.

  • Back from Covid! Thanks for the well wishes. Now that I’m better, I present this question to the boys. What is your absolute SPICIEST NFL take this year? I think the Bengals as a team take a massive step back and miss the playoffs after a magical SB run.

This video never really had an ending. The correlation seems to be that because the play calls sucked and there weren't a lot of weapons in ATL last year that Matt Ryan won't be good with the Colts because he's one year older. The accuracy take is simply bad. It's just bad, man. He is literally one of the most accurate qbs in the history. I do understand how age works in the NFL but Matt Ryan does have more than enough arm for a couple good seasons in Indy's WC scheme. It's more taking shots in between what the defense gives you. There's no triple move, 7 step hitch drop, 60 yard bombs in this offense. It's timing and consistency and you know this. You could have looked back to the last time Ryan had a WC offensive coach in Shanahan and the numbers they put up that season (MVP? oh, that's right), how Reich is more clever than Smith at calling plays, and how it could re-awaken Matt for a late- career run since this Colts defense is lightyears better than the Falcons D was that season (especially adding Gilly and Ngokue). This video simply misses the mark and it's not just because I'm a Colts fan. Usually I leave your videos feeling like I spent 15 minutes with a guy who did his homework and had a nuanced, educated take, even if I didn't agree with all of them. Not this time. It's all peace. See you next week.
  • it makes no sense to me how the criticism of a defense blundering is on the fault of matt ryan
  • The fact that Atlanta wasn’t eliminated until like week 17 is pretty impressive

Got to do one on Davis Mills, he was a good rookie qb, he bought himself some time but he knows if he doesn’t improve ,he’ll probably never be a starter for a franchise again.
  • I don’t know what you mean by he’s “coming off of several disappointing seasons”, but you cannot be referring to his stats. Considering the roster and coaching turnover, his play has been very good. The team record doesn’t reflect that, but he’s been good. Wtf..
  • Could you do Taylor Heinike? I always like watching him play, but i would like to know if he has a chance to be a starter.
  • @BigMamaFretus
According to EPA per play and CPOE, Ryan was a top 10 passer when throwing 25+ yards down the field.
  • @michaelicious
This aged quite well. There was a reason he was only available for a third round pick.

I had respect for this video until I heard “how much better is Ryan than that years Phillip Rivers.” As someone who was at or watched every game. I can tell you: lots better.
  • @greenx237
Everything in the video seemed right except Ryan Ranked 3rd Best in NFL on DEEP Passes Last Season on plays 20+ yards or More To say he can’t Throw Deep when he has the Most Passing Yards in a Players first 14 seasons is just not True 🐥
  • Matt Ryan is considered a good QB. Like these other comments are saying I don’t know what you’re getting at. I don’t even know if you actually said anything in this video that was worth hearing.
  • “Colts should have a more consistent man at QB” - yeah no shit. Have your top 5 29 Year old QB quit after the draft and a week before the season starts, then have your FA acquisition QB Phillip rivers retire a year before he was expected to leave. Yeah Wentz wasn’t ideal , but we basically rented him for a year and traded 1st for a 2nd and Matt Ryan. At the end of the day that was the outcome the colts have a guy who can carry the load for a couple years while they Bring in a young guy to sit next draft , or Draft a QB high to take over in 2024. There have never been a proverbial Wrench thrown into plan , like the way too early retirement of your franchise QB . Yet all the YouTube GMs with all the hindsight in the world would have made all the right moves.

Gotta disagree with this take, the Falcons were an absolute mess of a team last year (and this year still tbh) and without Ryan they don’t sniff 7 wins, i think his ability to carve up a defense within the structure of the play is up there with the best of them Insert Ryan into an offense with a better OLine, a WAY better run game, and better playcalling and he can do some damage especially playing in the AFC South I have the Colts winning the division and possibly pulling off a wildcard weekend upset
  • and Matt Ryan has a top 5 defense for the 1st time in his career..so there's that, too.
  • @Sasha-vb3mh
Watch Matt Ryan win a ring this season just because you made this video
  • I would have Ballard keep signing Veteran qbs than reach for and miss. He's waiting for the right opportunity.

This is a smash mouth, run-first football team... The only missing piece was any semblance of stability under center which Matty Ice certainly provides.
