In Episode 7 of Last Chance High we meet 13-year-old Keontay, who is enamored with gang life, his disabled mother Takita, who has lost all hope of prying him from the streets, and a former gang chief nicknamed Shotgun, who has a plan to help them both.

On Chicago's West Side, there is a school for the city's most at-risk youth — the Moses Montefiore Academy. Most of the students at Montefiore have been kicked out of other schools for aggressive behavior, and many have been diagnosed with emotional disorders.

Last Chance High takes viewers inside Montefiore's classrooms, and into the homes of students who are one mistake away from being locked up or committed to a mental hospital.

Look out for new episodes of Last Chance High every Thursday.

You always gotta respect a former gang member trying to put kids on the right path
  • Anyone in 2023, just me OK. This makes me realise that my parents are so important in my life and that I'm thankful I'm being brought up in a stable household.
  • In case anyone would like to know: After the show ended cortez fell into a life of violence, drug dealing and street life, forcing him and his family to flee the city. Coach william had gotten laid off and burned through the majority of his savings, but he says he continues to see some of the kids on the west side. Crystal and her son(Rudy Andrew Sanchez II) sadly died on Friday September 28, 2018. Spanky (montreal almond) got arrested just this year. And lastly, keontay was shot and killed. This is all the information I found for the people that wanted an update.

To those who don’t know, the school shut down in 2016 and most of the kids are either in jail or dead. Welcome to Chicago.
  • @imanayanda
The fact that he said the odds are jail or dead and Cortez is in jail and Keontay is dead is so heartbreaking. Poor babies never stood a chance 💔
  • @davidortiz3015
Agustin isn’t even a bad kid he’s just a bullied kid that actually stood up for himself
  • @abcapone
R.I.P. Keyonte. Street life isn’t the life to live.
  • I've pretty much binged all of this in one sitting. Coach Williams is an amazing human being, as are all the teachers and admin doing their best to just help these kids anyway they can. Complete unsung heroes that plug along each day without the thanks they need and deserve.
  • When he said boxing out negativity, I thought he said Boxing out Niggativity
  • Keontay Hightie was shot to death 06/08/22 at the age of 21 years old in Chicago. RIP to those who have fallen victim to street violence.
