I bought all those Oblivion Express records back in the day and played the hell out of them. Great band and was pleased to know them since they were not very well known back then, and probably even less now. Nevertheless, the were a wonderful group and blended rock and jazz effortlessly.

Great Brian, great Alex, great Band!!!!
  • Brian is one of best B-3 players left. I as well had all Oblivion Express LPs. Now cds. I wore them out. He’s still playing with son on drums, daughter on vocals. He’s a session man on many other LPs/cds
  • Brian Auger is a fantastic keyboard player, he is really underrated. His Oblivion Express was groovy as hell and always in the pocket. Alex Ligertwood is a unique singer too, he always feeling it. Thanks for posting this, the early 70's were the best years for music !....

MAMA MIA! Do I hear Brian Auger imitating Keith Emerson or was Keith nicking these lines from Brian Auger ? Sounds like a crossing between a funk band and ELP...This is an absolute GEM!

Brian Augar looks more 42 than 32yrs old, which is without doubt as a result of the hard life late nights drink & cigarettes in jazz clubs life.
