So rather than doing a typical 'Top 10' list of songs, I decided to try something a little different. Instead here's a timeline of great guitar songs from the 1960s. No order of 'best', just a selection of songs in chronological order that I like and think are great.

I'm only 4 month old but I'm already into that kind of music. All my friends only listen to Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer. They just don't understand me. I was born in the wrong generation:(
  • His posture is how every guitar teacher wants you to play, but no student ever does. 😐 I posted this comment a year ago and i couldn't have been more wrong. Im now a year into instruction and my teacher doesn't really care as long as you sound good.

    My brain: this video has no vocals Also my brain: 𝑭 𝑶 𝑿 𝒀 𝑳 𝑨 𝑫 𝒀
  • Miserlou was way ahead of its time as played by Dick Dale. It’s the heaviest song you played and the earliest. The contribution of instrumental surf gets overlooked. Many that went on to become rock gods can point back to the instrumental surf as what got them playing.

Gimme shelter is among the best, such a crisp and understated riff but it carries with it the horrors of the Vietnam war, beautiful
  • This may be the most Beatles fans I've seen in a comment section that wasn't for a Beatles vid...and I'm all for it
  • 4:58 ehem WHEN I GET TO THE BOTTOM I GO BACK TO THE TOP OF THE SLIDE, THEN I STOP, AND I TURN, AND I GO FOR A RIDE, THEN I GET TO THE BOTTOM AND I SEE YOU AGAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN!!!!!!!,!!!!!!!
  • @chambeet
“I Wanna Be Your Dog” has such a goddamn badass riff. No one seems to be talking about it in the comments. How heavy and hard is that shit for its time?!
  • Whats so great about these 60s riffs is they werent so over complicated, really gives you time to get in the groove of the music and feel what the song has to offer
  • Hendrix really was something else, he was light years ahead. Great video.
  • @coldguto
The first riff is a straight up metal riff without distortion
  • Loving these lists! But please don't stop singing and doing whole song covers
  • @KEKEISYOU
I actually had no idea that so many songs that are on this video are from the 60s i'm blown away by all the classics that are clearly still pumping to this day and age.
  • @Wubbista
I can’t be the only one at 2:03 about to sing “YOU GOTTA ROLL WITH IT”
  • Love the fact that the guitar sound is singled out. Brings more simplicity to these awesome riffs.
