she must have been so scared when she realized it wasn't Uber and she was trapped in the car

Watching that poor girl open up that door and getting in and shutting the door is absolutely CHILLING!šŸ˜šŸ’”

Friends, no matter what, do not let friends leave a bar by themselves! Especially at that time if the night.

This story gives me chills because it could have been me. In 2016, I got into a car in Brooklyn thinking it was my Uber, and it wasn't. Not even 30 seconds after, NYPD pulled us over saying that it was an illegal cab, and that I had to get out. The officer also reminded me to be more careful. I was very young, naive, and foolish-- thank god I walked away from that situation alive. This easily could have happened to me. Rest in peace Samantha

I love the Barcode idea. Lyft and Uber can easily integrate that into their systems

The feeling in Samantha's heart when she realised this man was not an uber driver must have been extreme terror. I only hope and pray that God was there with her an she didn't suffer much pain. I as a mom would have to hold onto this belief to get me through this horrific crime against my child. My prayers and heart go out to Samantha's parents and family.šŸ˜”

what are the odds that you get in one wrong car and the driver just happens to be a (soon-to-be) murderer?!

Every time I took an Uber in the last few days, I saw that every time I ordered one it said ā€œcheck your number plate to make sure itā€™s your Uberā€ and now I know why. Shocking

Samantha's parents are doing a great thing to honor her, focusing on preventing this from happening to another person, instead of dwelling in sorrow. I don't think Samantha would want her parents to be living the rest of their lives in pain and sorrow.

I hate how people are so evil. Like damn he didnā€™t have to kill her, he could have just told her he wasnā€™t an Uber driver.

What got me is that he drove off like he knew her instead of saying wait you in the wrong car. but he plan on killing her. he just let her get in and drove away.

Sorry for your lost, Samantha looks so much like her mom. May God bless your family!
  • I'm sorry for your loss, this is so heart breaking. You are strong parents, thank you for getting involved to change these laws.
  • This is awful. If you ever find yourself in this situation and the safety locks are on, this may help; pull out the head rest on the passenger seat and use the metal pins to smash the window, works if you end up in the water too! Be safe people.
  • Im so sorry what happened to her...when i first heard this story ...I immediately got upset with her friends for leaving her alone that night! Where I'm from....we never leave a girl behind

My daughter is graduating this May and I canā€™t stop thinking that could have been my child. My heart physically aches for this family šŸ’”šŸŽššŸ™

These parents raised her to be trusting and loving. Her friends left her alone without support.
