What happened when I learned a boring, ordinary life is I found the "good life." A life where I feel content with what I have, love for my family, friends, and all my blessings. I hope you join me on my journey to slow down my life and savor all those limitations that culture tells us to avoid.

What is the "good life" to you? Let me know 👇🏼
  • @hallienail1199
you are the brightest & calmest light in this often overwhelming YouTube space. thanks for all you do Madi ♥

🌱 “ The Good Life” for me is forever changing and evolving as I grow 🌱 When I was younger , it was money in the bank, trying to be a “ Boss” in my career, obsessed with not being a young black woman statistic… NOW, my goodness it’s changed … it’s laying on couch with kids, laughing , board games, moving slow and intentional ,making tea every night before prayer n bible study…
  • The good life is my beautiful 1 year old (and growing baby in my belly), my amazing husband, our little homestead, living in the mountains and being disconnected. No social media for the last 10 months has changed my life. Neither of us have it and I will never got back. Also, we rarely watch the news. THAT will kill happiness quickly. thank you for blessing us with these incredible videos Madisun!!!

Hi, Madisun. The "good life" for me is watching my 2 little boys run through my garden, seeing my neighbor's new calves, and having my children say, "Mama, look how pretty the sunset is today." And knowing, like clockwork, my husband will be home from work every evening at the same time. 🥰

Awesome video! As a Christian, it's getting back to the basics, biblically - so important and so needed - just as you outlined here - we aren't meant for all the other, yet thrive in the simple.

The good life for me is staying home with my girls, hiking, playing outside, and making good food together. Having kids changed my outlook on life so much and it has been a tremendous gift.
  • @courtneymoore5025
To me the good life, is having friends to dinner at the last minute, painting with my kids at the end of my work day, saying no to keeping my work email on my phone, a membership to the art museum, waking up an hour early not to be more productive but to read, drink coffee and sit in the quiet. Thank you for every video Madi. You are the brightest spot on the internet.
  • The good life to me is having a home, food in our pantry and fridge, and my little family around me ❤

You are spot on, and I wish everyone could see this video. Unfortunately, most people aren't ready to receive this message, but my hope is one day they will. I'm 48 yrs old. I chose to get married when I was 20 and start my family at 22. Having a healthy marriage, and having children, were my 2 most important things I wanted in my life. Then AND now. I was 16, and I told my husband (then boyfriend) that I WILL be a stay-at-home mom and raise my own children. All the way through their high school years when we are needed even more. He knew I was serious, and he was OK with that. I don't regret a thing, I didn't miss out on anything, and I did my best. I wasn't perfect, but I tried my hardest. My children are grown, and my marriage is wonderful because we work hard on it EVERY day. We love God and He is the center of our lives. Life is beautiful. Not perfect, not easy, but beautiful. There is nothing more important in this world than relationships. First with God, secondly with spouse, thirdly with kids, then other family and friends. I did fall to consumerism, to spending too much time on social media, too much TV, etc. It happens. I'm a few months into fixing these things. Decluttering, not shopping nearly as much, no social media (just a few YouTube videos that align with my goals and values), only a little bit of TV, cancelled Netflix and cable, trying to get better with Bible study, etc. And to all that need to hear this.....go easy on yourself. No negative self talk. You are precious, and I hope you treat yourself in that way.

Agree agree agree! We are so conditioned to be busy and distracted that we don’t pay attention to our Creator and all the awesome “slow” things around us… the breeze in the trees, the little games our children make up, the sun reflecting off dragonflies at sunset, the sound of the water rushing by in the creek, and so on. Love that you point out such wonderful things to be mindful of! ❤

I am 67 and have recently embraced minimalism and a simpler non toxic life. I wish It happened sooner but so completely happy to be living my new authentic life. Your channel is so helpful and I have learned a lot from you. Thank you! ❤️
  • @naturalnia432
The good life to me is… simplicity, long walks, swimming or playing in the pool, observing nature, bare feet in the grass, fasting, quality learning, quality time with family & quality time alone!
  • @darrahochoa
Again, obsessed with your videos please never stop making content! I started my minimalism Journey 7-8 years go, and am forever changed. I was a shopaholic, & obsessed with the thrill of spending. Fast forward to today, I barely own anything not to try and see how little I can own but because of the freedom and ease it brings me everyday (getting dressed, cooking, cleaning, momhood) makes everything so much quicker and simpler. Getting rid of things has caused me to buy less and learn contentment which has lead to paying off mounds of debt. Your videos keep me encouraged to keep going on this journey! This lifestyle will never bring complete peace bc only Jesus can do that, but this lifestyle sure helps in so many ways! Thank you Madi!!!
  • @emilymcclain591
Yay! I get to comment first! The good life for me has been realizing how important having family close by is. I think we are conditioned to think that after high school you go away and don’t come back home unless it is during special occasions, birthdays, or funerals. Living at home while I completed college and until I got married was a very strange concept to many of my peers as a young woman. Now I live only 30 minutes away from my mom and siblings and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Love this perspective shift Madi!
  • @LovisaMoller-pe9zi
Thanks for a wonderful video! Good life for me is to wake up and take my cofee in nature and spend my day with my four kids and and bake sourdough, play with our 7 cats, tall naturewalks, ride horses, cook some nice food , plant in my garden and look at the stars in the night. I am sooo grateful that this is my reality, thank you Maddy!!!:)
  • @LifeasBekah
Good life to me is watching things grow…my spouse, relationships, kids… walk with God everything I love human relations. I love people watching. Laughing. Country living; growing and cooking with food from our farm and garden. Finding joy in little or much!!! Being at peace with life and nature. Being challenged by unexpected events and looking back on how we made it. Making gratitude a priority. That’s the good life!
  • @HerCupOfSIMPLE
I was hoping for this video you promised you were going to put together for us! Dear Madi, my fav childhood memories are the ones of the days spent at home, in our tiny balcony, with my family, just chilling, talking and being together, no rush, no places to have to go to... little i knew that those were the times my parents were struggling financially the most and the being at home with "nothing to do" was a result of that!! The power of homemaking and parenting... i never knew we had "limitations"❤
  • @brookeparler7452
I really struggle with the boredom of a slow and simple life. I'm so thankful for it, and I think in time it will get easier but I'm such a busy body and want to check the next thing off my list. I've come a long way and appreciate all the content you share, it definitely encourages me to keep going and keep pursuing the slow!
  • @elevationview673
Wow Madi you hit the nail on the head. Being married is so good especially when having children. If you have these two things, happiness is in abundance. Although my lovely wife passed away 3 years ago I still wear my wedding ring. Simplicity is so important, makes life so much easier. Thank you for another wonderful video.
