"The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it." -Richard Bach

Too many of us are waiting for the good life to begin and I think it's time we exit survival mode and enter thriving mode, even amid mundane life in the suburbs. šŸ’•

Letting the moment last... that's my goal as a mother. Time just flies by so quickly, want to savor every minute! ā¤
  • @user-uk1fu8nn8l
Rather than rushing through cooking dinner after work so I can just flop on the sofa in front of the tv Iā€™m trying to slow down and enjoy the process of cooking. Cutting up the vegetables slowly, being thankful for having them, enjoying the aroma of the spices I add to the food while Iā€™m cooking. Somehow it turns the process of ā€œhaving to do dinnerā€ into something really enjoyable šŸ˜Š
  • Start romanticizingā€¦ ā€œThis house, this one todayā€¦be the main character and own itā€ ā€” I needed this reminder!
  • This is GOLD. I think the best one you've made yet. Thank you for the gentle reminder and for all the time you put into these. You are making an impact!
  • @VinndraP
I want you to know that I am 52, and your videos are inspirational to me. I wish I had known the benefits of simple living and minimalism when I was raising my kids! But, itā€™s never too late to start! I enjoy your videos and your new podcast! You are doing a good thing, for your family, and for anyone who happens upon your videos, and I believe youā€™re living your life just as God intended! Thank you!
  • @alle1780
Possibly one of my favorite videos so far of yours.
  • I too love clean sheets and so look forward to crawling in between them after a wash. The little things do matter. What a beautiful life ā¤
  • @raehawkins7655
something that helps me romanticize my life is taking pictures of the beautiful things I see. not for social media, but for me. the pictures donā€™t have to be perfect, they just have to capture the moment.
  • @MadisunGray
what small thing are you going to do today to unhurry? I'm going to listen to simon and garfunkel sing "Feelin Groovy" while I lay in the grass. :)
  • @borlanda92
Seriously. Your videos are like a massage for my brain. šŸ˜Œ I always save your videos for my lunch break during my hectic days working as a nurse in surgery. I can feel my body release tension and I feel lighter. Thank you so much for being my reprieve. šŸ™

Made me cry... I do long for a simple life where I find joy in the everyday moments with my sweet boys and husband. It takes reminders for me and constantly working towards that.

I love this. top favorite video of yours! As a single mom for 13 years now, having one daughter who I homeschool and who will be a senior in high school this fall, and working two full time jobs from home as a prof organizer and photographer, I am overwhelmed and overloaded and I am desperate for slow living. I am working hard to provide but also to be more present as I round out 12 years of homeschooling and finish strong with my daughter. I feel like life has been a blur and I am most often highly anxious and overwhelmed as I crave just the mom life of taking care of my home and child. But this is my life now and thank you for the reminder to make every moment amazing. I needed this. Oh yeah and getting rid of 95% of my stuff, best thing ever. At least I don't have to battle that overwhelm anymore ;-)

As I age, my most vivid meaningful memories all seem to be the ones where I stopped to really let my senses inform my experience. Sight, taste, touch, smell, hearing - and also the senses of balance, space, movement, etcā€¦ all helped to imprint important (sometimes life-defining) moments. And - we have to make the time to allow all this IN. My ā€œsenseā€! of gratitude for all this is growing exponentially. As always, thank you for the gift of your videos.ā¤
  • @Artevibe
I just recently discovered your channel. I have to commend you on the depth of your commentary. So many videos on slow living tell us to slow down but not how to do it. Your authenticity and research show!
  • @amberbateman2536
Hi Madi, I'm a Mental Health Counselor writing a new book about modern dangers to our mental health. Your channel has been a huge inspiration for the book and also just in my personal life. Slow living has absolutely changed my life for the better, especially as a mom. Thank you so much for being faithful to God's call on your life.
  • @briannabyers7988
Spoke right to me, hit that universal truth and made my eyes burn.. thank you for this, it is exactly what we need to hearā¤
  • Best one yet. So inspiring. Watched it twice already. Romanticize the little things (I, too, relish freshly washed sheets!)
  • @gracemay824
Iā€™m a college student and working full time, pretty burnt out most of the time and I just keep thinking about how much I want more of life like this. So relaxing to even just watch your videos, it gives me almost nostalgia of my childhood šŸ’“
  • "ā€¦enjoying being capable of doing nothingā€ ā¤ Love this, like usual your video is like beautiful poetryā€¦and speaks directly to how I am feeling ā¤
  • I love our little home but like you said about your tree, I find myself at times wishing it were different or wanting to change things. Iā€™m going to take more time to appreciate it as it is ā¤ at the end of the day we have a home and Iā€™m grateful for that!
