Jewel Pearson designed her picturesque, tiny home on graph paper. Now, it’s her sanctuary. Originally, the home was designed to travel on wheels, but once she arrived to her friend’s farm, she knew she was home. She’s since expanded the space, adding more permanent designs and features. Tour her home with us as she takes us through her unique space.

This is the first tiny house tour I’ve been interested in watching. I loved that she addresses the reality for Black folks with buying a house AND feeling safe where they live. I would describe her style as Black bohemian and such an inspiration to my own design aesthetic.

She should do a design masterclass. She has great design skills for tiny homes. This is the most well decorated and classiest tiny home I have ever seen! Superb!
  • @LESHAUNWILL
So glad that’s she’s not afraid to open up the dialogue on the Lack of inclusion and the stereotypes associated with tiny homes. I have one and feature mine on my YouTube channel as well, Jewel has always been an inspiration for me, absolutely love her.

Sitting here in tears 🥲I’m an AA woman who battled homelessness & I’ve loved tiny homes for 3 years but just don’t have the finances yet but this queen has been an inspiration!! She’s the first to confirm to me…it can be done!!

This is the most classy, glamorous tiny home I've ever seen. Perfection!
  • She is such an inspiration! I am a young black woman and one of my goals to have a tiny house. Hers is so beautiful and I also live in Charlotte so this was so needed!

I was there from the original build. I love how she has allowed her tiny house journey to be recorded for our benefits. Simply fabulous. She is a woman that does her research before hand and knows what she wants. Such an inspiration. Lastl, God certainly blessed her by turning back the hands of time. She looks younger and even more beautiful than first time I saw her during the build of her original tiny house. I love what she has done. Beautiful.

I love the style and "feel" of this tiny house. I'm endlessly astonished when I hear about the struggles of Black people and People of Color to feel safe where they live. I know it's out there, but as a white person,it's so easy to forget, and I never knew who bad it really is. Thank you Jewel, for your honest and beautiful tour, along with the eduction that so many of us need about the real and terrible effects of ongoing racism. I wish you peace, joy, and safety.
  • I remember the first time I saw her tiny home build on HGTV years ago. I was so inspired and excited. Up until that point I hadn’t seen a person of color with a tiny home. When I saw she had a walk in closet and her Afrocentric designs. I saw myself. I’m so happy to see her updates. I didn’t think it was possible for her to improve on the original design but she did.

I wish I could like this a hundred times! So many points of this resonated with me from single parenting and budgeting to the penny, to wanting a more free lifestyle. One of my main concerns were “where would I put my house?!” Thank you for being so open an honest about the challenges as it gives me much to think about when determining where to call home.

Such a powerful segment, particularly when she talks about safety concerns as a woman of color and our circumstances that we need to consider. Beautiful woman and home!

I loved this--she's so magnetic and informed. And the house has such a nice mix of warmth and artistry. Thanks for showing a non-standard tiny house!
  • @natasiarego
You’re living big in a tiny home. I’ve never seen so much personality put into a home. Beautiful!
  • @1CurlyB
I remember watching a video with her when she first finished that house. I thought - wow!! I can do this and living in a trailer park will work for me. I'm glad she spoke on this topic because it was a real concern for me. It's sad that the world still thinks this way, but her honesty let's me know I CAN DO THIS, but be vigilant.
  • Jewel's activism and educating via housing choice is so appealing! Also addressing real, serious issues like racism and safety is very important for someone deciding on this lifestyle. I also liked that as a tiny veteran who's mature, she addressed practicality of 1) furniture for single purpose 2) maintaining her house in 1 spot while creating something smaller & mobile for travel. Cozy and well designed.
  • Jewel, thank you for so beautifully articulating your perspective on housing inequality. Your advocacy is inspiring and much needed. Also, I love your eclectic and extremely personal style and the way your house continues to expand as you continue to evolve; inviting and unexpected delights. You clearly have a designer's eye and your reuse of a limited color palette makes for a really strong style statement. Wishing you great success with all you do 🌹
  • I never guessed your home could be more beautiful after I first saw it years ago BUT you have surpassed beautiful!! The decks and additional space are absolutely fabulous!!
  • HI JEWEL, AS A BLACK WOMAN WHO OWNS HER OWN HOME OUTSIDE OF LOS ANGELES, I MUST SAY, I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF YOU !!! KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK YOURE DOING !! GOD IS GOOD😊
  • Her tiny house has definitely changed over the years. I remember when HGTV showed her on their tiny house program. It's unfortunate that's she had to encounter racism in her journey, but I'm glad she is able to create the life that she wants to live.
  • I never get tired of seeing her tiny home. Beautifully decorated and full of life.
