This whole cheating scandal is just pre-fight skirmish for upcoming chess-boxing match of the century.
  • @captain_powow
Charlie is such a gem on this platform. He's a balance of good comedic commentary and a fairly trustworthy source of journalism, covering the most interesting topics and dramas, from the goofiest ones to the more serious, real allegation ones.
  • "Im gonna have to paint a picture with words," is such an enticing and terrifying sentence to come out of Charlies mouth
  • @LazarimFernando
Hans didn't cheat. Magnus is upset because Hans is dating his sister, and he doesn't approve. He only allow his sister date 2800 players.
  • 10:04 “Yeah, this is good research that he did…” 100%… Charlie absolutely did his research, and killed most of this video.

I know "penguinz0" as Charlie and Moist so much now that I was expecting Hikaru to react to Penguin, the bullet player 🤣
  • I think when, 1. You've cheated before and gotten away with it, 2. There are stakes involved in competition, 3. Cheating cannot easily be proven... Then the motivation is there along with a nice risk-benefit analysis. Dlugy has a bit to gain, too. There is no proof of cheating, but every behavioral element is there to support conditions for cheating.

The biggest questions in the universe. 1. “What’s out there?” 2. “What does it take to beat Magnus Carlsen?” Nepo: “Not me.” Garry: “Not me.” Vishy: “Not me.” Fabiano: “Not me.” Hikaru: “Not me.” Internet: ”aNaL bEaDs”
  • @jmtx.
Magnus knew Hans had a 'plug' because his was on the same frequency. That's why Magnus hadn't come forward with any details. Next week will be interesting.

It's about time we start playing and watching naked chess.

What's great about this is that Charlie makes an Always Sunny reference at the start. Fast forward a little and Always Sunny went on to produce an episode which included this particular chess scandal (S16E04) 😂😂
  • The lawyers are involved now. You aren't taking seriously Magnus's comment that he would get in trouble if he said anything.
  • @giftofnothing
There is a way to know. If its a mole as Magnus suspects then simply not sharing his strategy and playing him again without having planned his game with a potential leak. If he's using a bot and not a leak it will indeed be hard to catch him if he is. Hans clearly does not tell the truth in his public statements and he is still young and as a young person cheating in some cases is less serious in their minds because they watched the extreme hypocrisy of previous generations.
  • @A_Tempest
I'm wondering if Magnus played 'poorly' to try and make unnatural moves more obvious, a more stark contrast between what should be obvious responses

@11:10 ~ Did they wand his hair? Because he has a lot of hair. A small device could be super glued to his scalp hidden by the hair.
  • @richhenry8004
Assuming Hans' admissions are not a tactic would make sense if he weren't a chess player.
