I think when, 1. You've cheated before and gotten away with it, 2. There are stakes involved in competition, 3. Cheating cannot easily be proven... Then the motivation is there along with a nice risk-benefit analysis. Dlugy has a bit to gain, too. There is no proof of cheating, but every behavioral element is there to support conditions for cheating.

There is a way to know. If its a mole as Magnus suspects then simply not sharing his strategy and playing him again without having planned his game with a potential leak. If he's using a bot and not a leak it will indeed be hard to catch him if he is. Hans clearly does not tell the truth in his public statements and he is still young and as a young person cheating in some cases is less serious in their minds because they watched the extreme hypocrisy of previous generations.
