Love this community <3 Thanks for the great video! aMSAsumSaus

The fact he single-handedly made a low tier character look like an absolute war machine while also having a full time job as an engineer is just both funny and extremely impressive.
  • @FalconofDarkness
I think what I like most about him is his ability to get his opponent to be in a much friendlier mood. Whether they win or lose he seems to smile shake their hand/hug them.

aMSa's smile is so infectious, just watching him play and destroy people with a silly little dino makes me so happy

    “until he faced another of the five gods D R . P E E P E E”

The fact the was working as an ordinary salaryman on top of being arguably the best in all of Japan is incredible
  • The fact that Mang0 spiked his controller becouse he was the one to lose the major to a Yoshi and then instantly goin for a hug becouse it was aMSa just warms my heart. <3

“Bro trust me, Yoshi is actually a good character. Here, let me prove it to you.” grinds for a decade to win a supermajor “54:04

"Not only did he BEAT mango...he whooped his ass!" You can FEEL the emotion behind that.
  • @D_Evelyn_cat
aMSa is the definition of "The indomitable human spirit"
  • @LittleHopster
Somehow aMSa managed to pull off a storybook ending that is so unreal it could be a movie. All his hard work finally payed off and I’m about to cry for a red Yoshi
  • I know im not even halfway thru but i have to comment on how heartwarming it was to see Mew2King smile a little while shaking aMSa's hand after watching a mini compilation of him basically brooding while shaking other players hands. Truly shows how infectious aMSa's smile is

I love 22:25, you have the 1 guy cheering "USA!", before getting replaced by an ENTIRE crowd cheering for AMSa, who had just lost. Optimism and determination, that's what that'll get ya. There's real value in being a crowd favorite!
  • @SethJV
Can't wait to see a 6 hours long video on a random guy winning the biggest tournament ever with Bowser
  • @TheCubicalGuy
There will never ever be another melee player like aMSa.

This was an amazing documentary that had me hitting my desk & hopping up and down. The editing to capture the emotion and stakes through the commentator, the timely narriration blurbs, and the SEAMLESS animation. Explain VERY neiche smash-centric things to those unfamiliar.. pffft.... A++ my dude My favorite part - let's not hit each other for a momemnt cuz both funny number. and "Because red is coooooool"
  • @thecluckster3908
12:49 as someone who doesn’t know anything about the smash scene, this got a hearty laugh out of me.
  • Coincidentally, aMsa's name in Filipino means "happy or joyful", he literally embodies his own name.
  • @junkmail2223
the thing about a "play to win" mentality is that it pretty quickly teaches you to lose with grace. Amsa's constant sportsmanship is something to be admired.

I’ve watched this video several times since you first posted it. I watched this video three times while I road-tripped ~14 hours each way to compete in a Magic: the Gathering Regional Championship. Your representation of aMSa’s competitive spirit, his drive to win, his humility in losing coupled with his hunger to come back stronger next time… it’s made me cry almost every time I’ve watched this video. This feeling when seeing aMSa’s story represented this way lights a fiery passion in my core that carried me to compete in my first major tournament in my own discipline, and although I lost, I took it with grace as aMSa would and committed to coming back again but stronger, with more practice, more commitment, etc. Thank you AsumSaus. I’ve watched your videos for a long time, and you’ve consistently been the GOAT of Melee content, and this project is undoubtedly your Magnum Opus as far as I’m concerned. I sincerely hope in the time since you made this video that you’ve been doing well, and I’m committed to watching whatever you post next.
